Expensive disaster this one is turning out. Say what you like about TP but at least he had the sense to ring around and check they weren't an arsehole.

A telephone is too outdated for Tricky and Slick. Who needs old fashioned contacts and ringing people for basic due diligence when you can just ask ChatGPT, check Football Manager stats, virtually trial the player in EA Sports FC 24 and watch YouTube highlight compilations and TikTok vids. These are where the cutting edge of football recruitment is at don’t you know?

He forgot checking the wind coming out though and Palacios was brought in! He was perhaps the biggest disappointment for me. He was a massive upgrade on Whelan. His head was gone (which is probably why he left Spurs) not because he’d made it as a footballer but because of grief.

Palacios and Crouchy have what to do with Mmaee? I’d argue Palacios was a better signing, this bloke is wank and those saying otherwise are just deluded

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-ricky-martin-sacked-9118678More damning from Stoke’s perspective is the need to discipline at least one of those summer signings, with Ryan Mmaee sent to train with the under-21s. Stoke supporters might accept that not every transfer will work but due diligence should have been top priority on anyone coming into a club which had been stunk out by bad eggs in the recent past. A cursory flick through Mmaee’s CV does not make clever reading and stories such as a spitting incident in Hungary and car crash in Cyprus should have been red flags. That saga has been another narrative as Stoke have gone from looking over their shoulder as January progressed to realising they were standing knee deep in muck. The head of Neil alone wasn’t going to satisfy an increasingly angry fan base.

Sometimes you can take a chance on a wayward rebellious soul. It may work and it may not but with our recent league positions and FFP restrictions we ain’t going to get perfect professionals at the top of their game are we.
We might have known the risk and gambled anyway. Who actually knows.
If you think it was wrong and irresponsible then I give you the name Arnautovic. A rebellious troubled soul who was fuckin brilliant for us.

Christ on a bike Mmaee’s agent has got that Frazer fella well and truly wrapped around his little finger hasn’t he?
Beside that, good stuff if true and accurate. We won’t stay up with Niall Ennis up top.
Schumacher needs to get back to what he was doing 2 months ago. Stick with it. Whether you like them or not, that includes having Vidigal and Mmaee in the team.
At this point the turgid conservative shite isn’t work. He’s a dead man walking. Get rid of the defensive shite, treat every team in this league as they are (including us, obviously) - shit - and go at teams. Get sacked doing that, or get sacked doing what he’s done for the past 5/6 games. I know what I’d rather.
Fuck Cundle off. Would perhaps even bring Pearson back into the fold alongside Burger.
Pearson Burger Leris Junho Vidigal Mmaee
I’d understand if he went for Laurent over Pearson with Burger sitting.
That really shouldn’t be a relegated front 6.
Edit: forgot about our £4m winger. Million plays over Leris obviously.

For all of his failings and him being an arsehole, I'd still prefer him to be an option for us until the end of the season. He has got a bit of quality. The one major concern is, if he is actually back in contention, what reception is he going to get? Ideally it'd need to be a positive one because of the predicament we're in, but he was hardly universally adored before all this happened. I think from recent murmurings, he'll be back in the squad. Would Tuesday be too soon? At least you could break him in a bit more gently away from home.

Whether you like them or not, that includes having Vidigal and Mmaee in the team. Not while Million is playing as good as he has. Mmaee is one thing, Vidi is another. I'd rather use Million and Bae on the wings. And while I agree it would be better if we attacked and lost than defended and lost (except fot he goal difference), there's nothing from the december performances that says we would score more goals with Mmaee and Vidigal. Mmaee need to get his head down, get on the bench and take his chance when Ennis comes off.

That would be my thinking too, get him back in the team away from home or sub him on IF we're ever winning a game comfortably. He's bound to not get a great reception when he's back in the team but if he can at least show some effort and not play shite then the fans will respond to him.

If Mmaee had missed those two on Saturday he'd have been strung up from the Matthews statue. He wouldn’t have been in position to miss them. He’d have either been wandering past the edge of the box as they come in or simply just outmuscled by the defender. I’d have him on the bench instead of Lowe because hopefully he has a bit of fire in his belly now, but he’s been mostly shite all season and he’s thoroughly incapable of playing up top as a solo striker. Ennis isn’t amazing. However, I imagine he’d score about 10-12 in this division if he played every game. He reminds me of Lee Gregory before he got to Stoke. I don’t think Mmaee would get the same.

We are in desperate times, even though Mmaee isn't prolific,he is our best chance of getting a goal from open play, So get him off the noughty step and on the pitch. He may not score, but we are unlikely to score without him,so what have we got to lose?

He wouldn't have had those chances, but he would have had others. Remember the three "sitters" he missed vs. Brum everyone was so angry about just before the whole bomb squad saga started? Don't get me wrong, I prefer Ennis as he's a better fit for our style of play, but as you say he's hardly amazing, more like distinctly average.
