I haven’t checked but I wouldn’t put it past some who are slating Laurent want to give Mmaee a pass for strolling about like he’s taking his dog for a walk. They both have had a bad start to the season, and none of the two deserves to be in a starting 11. And quite possibly won’t be come the next league game. AN’s selections have been slated but as far as I can see he’s been selecting completely on merit.

Wesley played well yesterday. But Millwall wanted us to turn the ball quickly and turn it into 50/50 duels. We should have played through the lines as much as possible and our ability would have seen a positive result. We really need to make sure we are utilising the good footballers we now have at the club. Wesley played that well former pro’s commentating were amazed he got to stay on the pitch so long. To be fair commentators can have thier own opinions like you can. My opinion is he (Wesley) wasn’t anywhere near as bad as people made out. It’s going to be a pretty thankless task having balls twatted roughly in your direction, whilst trying to hold off a 6’6 Jake Cooper and a 6’4 aggressive Shaun Hutchinson and having next to no support. What really fucks me off is it felt like we were playing Wesley down the channels and to Vidigals head instead of the other way round. I’m probably exaggerating but certainly what it felt like.

I don’t think there is much doubt he was ineffective. TBH I think he’s a bit of a one trick pony, impressive strength but apart from that for a striker a bit meh. I think we needed more than that in that role.

Some players come from foreign leagues hit the ground running others take a while sometimes a season to adjust. He's played a handful of games, it says so much about modern football people want to write him off and send him on loan already. Bizarre From memory Steino and Thorney took quite a few games to get off the mark for us and they turned out more than alright It was 8 games before Steino got his first goal for us. What was it then? 63 goals in 85 games or something daft so 63 in under 80 games after notching his first. What a player he was. The best! The Golden One, the best striker in a Stoke shirt I've seen

I disagree his movement for the watford goal and his WBA goal/own goal show he has plenty more to offer then ‘one trick pony’. However he doesn’t seem as mobile or as fast as I would have liked.

He got away with a sneaky one on Wesley when I think he may have nodded in but what good defenders do. Reminds me a lot of Alan McDonald the old NI centre back Edit ..no mustn't have been Cooper. They were talking re a player pre game who had, obviously wasn't him

He’ll be fine. The biggest issue with fitting him in is we don’t play through the team on the ground. That has to change with or without him in the side. Wesley played well yesterday. But Millwall wanted us to turn the ball quickly and turn it into 50/50 duels. We should have played through the lines as much as possible and our ability would have seen a positive result. Is he a good enough manager to get the right tune out of the talents at his disposal? I hope so, but you never know….

I can’t wait for a 433 with Campbell and Vidigal either side of Wesley. We will be so much better to watch. It might expose Hoever a little but we will just have to score more then the opposition.

Otherwise yes Vidigal and Campbell (having signed a new contract) either side of a mobile No9 who is competent in the air and scores a few.

Not impressed with Mmaee so far tbh. I can accept teething issues with positioning or passing, but not when players don't graft hard enough. The basics of controlling a ball and putting in a shift are a minimum.
Hopefully we'll see that in the coming games.

Impossible to judge him on yesterday’s short appearance. Obviously not set the world alight yet but little bits here and there seem to indicate he can play and if allowed some time to settle in could end up being a good signing. Only the Manager will know whether he is sulking a bit or simply taking time to adjust to a new environment
