Why were they attacked mate? I’m not condoning it by the way, but why were they attacked? Nothing to do with the planned pro Palestinian March then to coincide with the game🤷♂️ It’s fairly well documented even by the police commissioner. There’s evidence everywhere showing Maccabi fans walking through town singing anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian songs and chants. Ripping Palestinian flags down from the homes of locals, climbing up walls and lampposts to do so. A taxi driver who confronted them over it was beaten up, prompting a revenge attack from a group of North Africans. They jeered through a minutes silence for the Valencia flood victims. Their fans have a history of it, they have one of the most openly racist fan bases you will find. They’re clearly went looking for trouble and rightly or wrongly got their arses handed to them on a plate…..

But it's pretty clear the hatred is on both sides. We can't sit here and say that the Turks slaughtering a bunch of Israeli football fans is somehow morally acceptable. None of this is acceptable. Regardless of who started it... I’m not saying that in the slightest. Every Israeli fan that goes over to support their team without inciting hatred or looking for trouble should be treated respectfully. Anyone that goes shouting filth about Palestinians and ripping flags down are going to be in serious trouble. I suspect their fans will be stopped from travelling anyway…… I'm sure you are as forthright as stopping away fans travelling for shouting filth about the holocaust, ethnic cleansing and the October 7th terrorist attack?

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans travel to watch their team play a football match against a Dutch team and are met with Pro-Palestinian protesters yet the violence is blamed on the Jews. Seems a bit predictable.

Because they’re flying the Palestinian flag in solidarity with the people of Palestine I’m guessing. Some of them may even be Palestinians living in Amsterdam, who knows? Why didn’t all those people that had Ukraine flags in their windows go and fight against Russia using your own logic? Exactly mate why don't they? I'll ask you that? Solidarity means surely to stand by someone at all costs does it not? I’d say because there is no correlation with believing it’s wrong for a group of people to be oppressed, with having to go over and fight yourself. I mean practically speaking I couldn’t go to Gaza and fight against the IDF even if I wanted to so how would that even work?

I would be yeah. I would condemn it fully, and have done. I had exactly that altercation with a Stoke fan at White Hart Lane several years ago when he was hissing, and talking shit about Jews and gas chambers. He was a prick and I told him so, luckily a couple of his mates could take their drink and told him to shut up and sort his head out…..

We can't be legitimising this behaviour, even if these people who think it's OK to rip down a flag. It's a fucking flag. To respond with butchery is fucking savage.

There are several eye witness statements from local people verifying it. A couple of minutes googling “Maccabi Tel Aviv racist fans” and you’ll see articles galore on their fans, the songs they were singing about Arabs, Gazan children, Palestinian being annexed are literally par for the course…..

I’m saying nothing of the sort. But we’re talking about human reactions here, if a bunch of NF skinheads walked through an area full of black and Asian people shouting racist shit do you think they’d get invited in for tea and biscuits? I don’t condone violence but that’s what happens in these situations. The Maccabi fans to repeat have a history of racism and bigotry. Me pointing that out has nothing to do with them being Jewish or even Israeli it’s just a documented fact……

If I felt so strongly about something as some seem to on here then I'd be over there trying to do something to help. If not fighting for the cause then helping with food aid etc. I don't hence me sitting here now talking to you but if I felt strongly about it I would do as much as I could to help out. I don't think waving a flag and commenting on the internet puts anyone in that category. It's virtue signalling shite.

On the spectrum of waving a flag and fighting on the front line there’s plenty in between…..

Tel Aviv play in one of the UEFA European tournaments most years. Them being Jewish hasn’t caused a great deal of issues in the recent past, so I’m not wholly convinced it’s just down to them being Jewish.
