He was too young and inexperienced when he came to us. Fingers crossed that he develops into a very good player as he continues to learn the ropes. I wish Rory had had a word in his ear and told him to go elsewhere. It would have been better for everyone and wouldn't have upset his dad who was a legend here. No winners methinks. OS. Maybe one day he will return if we get back to the promised land.

Harry Kane was similar in his early loans. Struggled to make an impact and I doubt a single Norwich fan saw remotely what was coming Not going overboard with Delap due to a good goal but looks likes he's really come on as players either do or don't at that age quite often How many times have we read on here that certain young player will rip that league apart I think the cliche is and instead have drifted away ? Good point on Kane. Tim Sherwood explained his loans a little somewhere, and said they put him into difficult environments to effectively see whether he’d sink or swim. The example he gave was the loan to Millwall, which would’ve been really hostile. What Delap looked to be lacking here was the touch and decision-making, rather than any physical shortcomings. I suspect Man City wanted to get him away from age-capped football to an environment where he wouldn’t be able to simply overpower opponents.

Looked like Erling Haaland as he brushed that defender aside and leathered it into the net. I’ve always thought he looked like Haaland-lite in his build and style of play. A rare beast nowadays, if he can make a fist of it in the Prem he’ll be worth tens of millions very soon

I think was a bit of a step up playing V players his own age to seasoned centre backs who know every trick in the book at our level and refs who couldn't spot a horse on the pitch . He seemed to want to get in it with his marker rather than play his own game, perhaps showing his lack of experience. Yep, was times Delap didn't look up when an easy ball on

Great goal but now a far more mature player.
Did little for us, then even less for Preston. Did a bit better at Hull in an average team.
He is now with better players up against better players - time will tell. Hope he does his father proud.
£20 m is the going rate and beggars can't be choosers.

Expectation was too great. Doubt whether the change of manager so early on helped him.
And to go from listening to Guardiola to Alex Neill, who obviously also had a problem with his dad, must have been a mind fuck, to say the least.

He was shite during his spell at Stoke. May turn into a decent player but only time will tell. Gouranga.

Is he? What evidence is there of that? He's scored 1 good goal for Ipswich - that's it. Did nothing whilst here, nothing a Preston and hardly set the league on fire at Hull. Gouranga.
