I think the three teams relegated from the premiership are probably better than the three teams promoted from the championship. I know that this year Brentford and Fulham have bucked the trend of promoted teams being candidates for relegation. Notts Forest struggled but clung on.

I can't see any of the relegated teams being as bad or worse than we faired after relegation.

I suspect all three will be better than us which makes it difficult to get out of the league. Leicester still have very good players if they can keep them. You just know that Allardyce will sort Leeds out.

Best placed relegated team is Southampton imo.
Their squad walks this division with the talent it’s got imo.
And beyond Ward Prowse I don’t think they’ll have many players leave.
Very young squad that were perhaps a season or two early for the Prem but certainly good enough for the Champ.
My early prediction is they walk the league, promoted by last weekend of March.

I think it'll be a better quality division next season, which will be bad news for us if we're as poor again as we were this season. We only stayed up this season because of the dreadful standard of the division and a number of really weak teams at the bottom.
Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth all look very strong coming up from League One. All finished with over 95 points and two of them are immediately amongst the biggest and best supported clubs in the division so easily have the infrastructure for this division. Plymouth are well supported too. And as has been said, the relegated teams look stronger than for a while. Unless there's financial meltdown at Leicester and Leeds which could happen.

I think that Sunderland and/or Watford will be there or thereabouts. Leeds may well put up a good fight.
For the relegated clubs, it all depends on how much finance they have available, how much of their squads they can recycle and how the current players handle poor morale.

It’s going to be a very hard division next year. Those who failed to get up this season the likes of Blackburn, Boro, WBA, Millwall, Coventry, Sunderland will all be gunning again next season. Then those who fell short Norwich, Watford, Swansea without even considering the three coming down and three coming up which i think will all add to the leagues strength and depth.

Got to be the end of him as a manager, surely? Consigned to history like so many British managers of a similar age and approach. Management and tactics have moved way beyond where managers of his age and background are.

We won’t be promoted and won’t be relegated (hopefully), mid table mediocrity I suspect or a little lower.
A year of attrition, rebuilding and consolidation, all part of a five year plan to get us back to exactly where we are now.

Leeds and Leicester are both currently a mess. Unless there is a massive change during the summer, they could struggle.

You also have to take into account how many of their current players will want to stick around.

I think that Leicester will struggle. They will have to cash in on most of their bigger names and will end up having to completely rebuild their squad in the summer.
Leeds seem a little all over the shop to be honest. The ghost of Bielsa will linger around that club for a long time. It needs a strong manager to step in and reshape the team.
Southampton, bizarrely, might be ok. They have a very young squad that might be better suited to this level. Apart from Ward-Prowse, there are not that many assets to sell - so they might benefit from some stability in the squad.

Leicester & Leeds might be in a mess, but you just know they will finish higher than us, unless we get some great signings done in the summer.
