I doubt if that is true, if the Women's World Cup is anything to go by. Fifa are trying to get Governments to pressurise TV companies to pay more than they wish to for the TV rights. At the same time,Fifa has decided to increase the prize money to $130m. As a result every squad member will receive a minimum of $27,000 rising to $270,000 for each member of the winning team. Whether the competition will pay for itself is debatable, it probably doesn't matter.Fifa's aim is to have equal prizemoney for both World Cups by 2027/28. Does anyone believe that the Women's World will be as popular as the Men's by then?

Well done Mr Souness, for a man who had a triple heart bypass over 30 years ago he isn’t half showing what can be achieved with a little determination. Brilliant stuff👏🏻 He also looks absolutely great for his age. 1 million pounds raised for his swim, hats off!

I just wish there was a separate tab for women's football on the Sky and BBC sites, the number of articles on the main pages do seem disproportionate to the levels of interest and it's to the detriment of the lower divisions of the EFL. Plus clicking on a story and it's actually about a woman's game can be slightly irritating. The interest in women’s football is so small it surely won’t be long before it’s canned otherwise Sky will be showing stuff nobody’s watching. Cricket is a different matter. They’ve sold out the Ashes at Trent Bridge and is actually watchable. Ok they’re not as quick or agile as the men and their technique leaves a bit to be desired but my god they are competitive Doubt it. I think Sky would be more than prepared to take some sort of financial hit in a trade off of upholding this ultra woke image them and various other organisations seem to be trying to portray.
