£50k needs to be raised, can't see it happening myself. Could be a slow campaign - but if word keeps spreading, I reckon they'll get there. Lemmy/Motörhead were adored worldwide, I don't know how many fans officially, but a tenner from each one towards the target makes it do-able. While Burslem isn't exactly L.A., the statue in the Rainbow Bar there seems to be tucked away and a bit sad: If the artist's impression on that news story is accurate, it would be a fantastic draw for many fans - very prominent and in his birthplace. The other projects they're talking about may take longer - that's alot of money needed for some of those plans.

In 1981 Lemmy returned to his home town to bring heavy metal to Port Vale - the Heavy Metal Holocause festival featuring Motorhead, Vardis, Riot and Triumph. Concerned residents were being evacuated to Blackpool as heavy metal fans from across Britain and Europe descended on the Mother Town.
I can remember this, hard not to really as despite growing up in Milton we could easily hear it from there it was insanely loud and must have been deafening in Burslem.
Never into the metal scene, more Punk then Skinhead and keep promising myself I’ll do the Blackpool Punk Festival one year, like a few Motörhead tracks mind.

I hope that one of the projects is a town twinning announcement.
Hiroshima springs to mind.
