Pugh has played in there before......... but not for us of course.
I think he'll do OK in there.

As our central midfield has been rather toss all season, I don't think it actually matters if Pugh slots in there. Personally I would have rather seen him play on the left as that is his natural position, that way we could have played Cresswell up front with Fuller leaving Mama sitting off the midfield, but hey ho. H Saying that it's only Wisemaster so it could all be wrong as he is spending most of his time boycotting the Murdoch HQ

Pugh's interview in the Sentinel today suggests that he expects to play in centre midfield - so I would expect us to start with WM's team if Wright is fit to start.

As our central midfield has been rather toss all season, RAF I thought you would have known better than that, just ask yourself what instructions has our illustrious manager given to his midfield. Thats how I read it.

does anyone agree with RAF ?? and I note he has his location as SOT - odd, I'm sure he once "let slip" that he was at a secret base just north of London.......

Agree with RAF. It would seem to make more sense for Pugh to be on the left and have Mama sitting behind Cresswell and Fuller. Pugh's crosses would be a great asset from that position.
I'd like to say that they will revert to that formation at times, but in all honesty, I'm sure it's not really Pulis's style - he'll 'give them a job to do' and will probably expect them to stick rigidly to it. For all the Gaffer's positive attributes, I don't think allowing his team to show artistic licence is one of them!

Regardless of the thoughts of Stokies, two solid banks of 4 is TP's preferred method. RAF is suggesting a 4-3-1-2 formation, thus leaving us slightly more open to attacks down the flanks. 4-4-2 it is then, Pugh in midfield.

I was critical of TP for his selections at Burnley but it TWM is correct then I am of the opinion that it is possibly the strongest use of the players available. We will need a solid midfield and Pugh will do a decent job there. I know where RAF's coming from but I think this isn't the game to try it with Mama tucked in behind Ric and Cress. Without wishing to sound like ianrb (shudder) if you offered me the point now I'd happily snap your hand off and start preparing for Blackpool. That said lets go for it and beat the league leaders and move withing 3 of the top. Gooooaaaarrrrrnnnnnn Stoke

I said Pugh could play in midfield earlier in the season-I thought he could because of his passing ability. So hopefully he'll do a decent job.
