My shirt arrived today and i am really impressed with it, and honestly the white patch on the back is really not that big of a deal Wrong answer. Don't you realise it's the end of the world?

I don’t like this year’s because I’m not a fan of so many stripes. It reminds me of the 03/04 shirt, and then there was the mid 80s one that was true pinstripes. So maybe every 20 years or so we forget that the pinstripe (ish) kits are more polarising than traditional shirts. Ultimately though I’m not sure it’s too important. It’s nice when the kits are bangers and I’d say we do pretty well generally in that regard. Certainly in recent years. But I can also remember some kits I hated from periods I enjoyed. Our home and away shirts in 08/09 were monstrosities but that season was an amazing time to be a stoke fan. Bring back the pinstripes!

"Designed in Bologna, the home of Macron, the production of the replica kits has focused on environmental responsibility by using Eco Fabric, a polyester material 100% derived from recycled plastic." "The shirt, which marks the eighth season of partnership between the Stoke-on-Trent club and Macron, delivers a very ‘green’ message of sustainability and respect for the environment. Stoke City FC’s new ‘Home’ kit is made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material 100% derived from recycled plastic." Fair play. Eek...not that I've noticed how Stoke shirts are made before, but this is greenwashing. Polyester in whatever form still results in a load of microplastics getting into the waterstream. They're too small to get filtered so end up inside all the freshwater and sea creatures, and probably us eventually. The difference to traditional fabrics is that polyester doesn't decay. Patagonia were highlighting this about 10 years ago. There are ways of preventing the microplastics from getting into the waterstream, like washing less and using a lint trapper in the washing machine. I don't think polyester made from recycled plastic can be recycled again either. I wonder if any football clubs use environmentally friendly materials.

I wouldn't worry about what a medium sized north Midlands football club is or isn't doing.

I wouldn't worry about what a medium sized north Midlands football club is or isn't doing. It all adds up and makes a difference. From a marketing perspective, it could be a feel-good thing too given the past few years (I'm only cautiously optimistic for this season).

Pity though with all the shirt tugging and modern sportswear a cotton football is a thing of the past.

Yeah best thing about cotton, unlike these synthetic fabrics, is it doesn't stink to high heaven after being worn for more than 2 hours.

As with many'eco' things, presented as wholesome for an ESG score and marketing, whereas the reality is much different. Electric cars, windfarms, etc

i own a complete set (home and away) of shirts from Ryan's tenure with the club. haven't bought one since, though the black did tempt me this year. this new kit looks rubbish though. hopefully not a sign of what's to come this season.

I’d love us to have a Kappa kit. Look at this Kappa bad ass away shirt for Palermo. Imagine that with the Stoke badge. The positioning of the brand club badge on the collar bone is bang on. (Perhaps stick a third parallel stripe down the middle to stop people moaning their bags off that it's too much like Coventry's current retro classic.)

Ultimately, if we get a decent quality squad in, and are challenging, nobody will give a single fuck about the kit
I'm not offended by it, its red and white stripes, go figure
Promotion charges tend to offset fashion!

Don’t like black or pink kits tbh, but that one is corking I currently wear two* Fred Perry shirts. One black with pink trim, and one pink with black and red trim. They're like my going out smart home and away shirts. *the pale grey and black ones have seen better days so I can just them for knocking about in, popping to the shops, etc.

Even when they've seen better days they still offer style fit for any occasion.
