Have you ever seen so many people in yellow hi viz jackets around and in ground as was at Coventry on Saturday. All little Hitlers š” The worst one was at HT after going to Loo we was not allowed to go back up to our seats!! Asked why and they said H & S reasons. So I had to go up side stairs as I was sat in the middle and make my way across all the people happily sat down at HT to get back to my seat. After we had to walk half a mile the wrong way to get back to our car, again as Stewards blocked our way š¤¬ Great result for us 0-4 but

The one way system they were operating where you could only go up a certain set of steps and down others was absurd, borderline dangerous.
There was a poor row infront of us in block 6 that was constantly being interrupted by streams of people coming in and trying to get to the next block.
Thankfully the hordes of pissed up Stokies brought some sense to the occasion at 2.55 and broke through the blocked entrance.

I worked at a school once and the school dinner ladies were told that from now on they have to wear yellow hi Viz vests ( health and safety!)
And it was a primary school!
Apparently being 3 foot taller than everybody else in the dining room wasn't distinguishing enough. They clearly needed to wear hi Viz vests as well .
Shame on the teachers and head to not realise this and need a health and safety exec from the council, to point out the urgency of rectifying their wild disregard to the safety of the children.

We live in a hyper regulated society nowadays and it's sickening both in it's effect and also the power it's application gives to the high viz wearing 'jumped up little Hitler' type mentalities that psychologically thrive as a result of it's effects. There are numerous examples of this modern sickness everywhere one chooses to go.

Was interesting when hundreds of people, including a fair few hooligans turned up for the euros final v Italy without tickets.
The hi Viz wearing stewards, dropped their little Hitler thing like a hot potato, ditched their hi Viz vests, blended into the crowd and fxcked off .

It was ridiculous and meant fans had to go miles out of their way, funnelling everyone down a narrow corridor. H&E where it has dangerous side effects, completely idiotic and should be stopped.

Speaking as a health and safety manager (a realistic one) the base guideline should always be so far as is reasonably practicable. Therefore if it creates more danger or has no general benefits then carry on as before. Obviously somebody has done a risk assessment and looked into it way too much.

It was appalling, how on earth it could be allowed given they were intentionally crushing fans together. That wasnāt how the stadium was designed to be used and the single at the top of the stairs was really struggling
Another shambles

It was bloody dreadful. How dare we use a gangway for the purpose it was designed for. Absolutely no reason for people to use a one way system. Mine and my boy's seat was right next to a gangway but was told to go all the way around.
How's about carrying hot drinks all along a row and potentially spilling onto some poor soul. H and S gone mad.

On a ship I served in RN we had a sign on the engineering tech office door that readā¦ā¦"Health & Safety are those types who turn up, after the battle is won and warriors exhausted, to stab them in the back!ā

H&S in the UK is bonkers at times. I went to so a job on an RAF base and the soldiers guarding the entrance were armed and in full camouflage gear. On top of it they wore hi-vis waistcoat. On being stopped I was laughing at them asking if they wanted to be aeen or not?

For certain if you want to look important and never be challenged just wear a high viz jacket, white bump hat and carry a clip board. Youāre safe.

Same at bet 365 in the south stand, i sit block 36 but it is easier to go up block 37 steps as my seat is about 4 seats in from the steps of block 37 but they will not let you as your ticket says 36 so have to disturb the whole row to get to my seat tried explaining this but they won't have it, so i just go in now along one of the empty front rows and walk up block 37 steps just no need for it .

Good afternoon Jodie
I attended the above game last Saturday with my daughter. We had seats in T8.
When entering the seating deck we, along with many other supporters, were prevented by stewards from going up the stairway closest to our seats, and required to go up the stairway at the end of the stand. On arrival at the seating deck, there was no lateral gangway ( because obviously the stadium was not designed with the intention that our seats should be accessed via that stairway), with the consequence that we had to walk along a whole row of seats, requiring the spectators already in those seats to repeatedly stand up. This was inconvenient both for them and for us. It also increased the risk of spectators who were carrying hot drinks spilling them.
There seemed no obvious reason for this, particularly since the stairway had a rail down the middle, so that it would be easy to operate a "keep left" system to separate those going up from those going down. Stewards simply said "that's our instructions" and in some cases made it clear that they sympathised with spectators who were angry with them about this. If there is a good reason which wasn't apparent, then at the very least the stewards should be briefed by the person giving them this instruction, so that they can explain it to the spectators.
As kick-off approached and the number of spectators coming up increased, the system was abandoned, which made its earlier rigorous imposition even more inexplicable. But I have been told that it was re-imposed at half time, causing further inconvenience and annoyance.
After the match, Stoke City supporters' social media was full of very critical comments about this bizarre crowd management, in my opinion understandably so. I would be grateful to receive your comments, including an explanation of why and by whom this system was imposed.
Regards
Malcolm Malcolm Clarke, Chair, Stoke City Supporters Club; Chair, Football Supporters' Association.

To be fair the steward I spoke to said it was crazy and he was just doing as he was told.
