I'll not lie growing up the odd joke was funny.
But being older now and having read about the impact it has on the family as well as having a colleague with a severely disabled sibling, I do feel these jokes are a bit distasteful now.
Does this opinion make me woke/cancel culture?

Does this opinion make me woke/cancel culture? Always kept up to date with Harvey as he’s a likeable character and has done great to progress to where he is from where he was when he was born. Massive achievement re his development. I’m not a fan of Katie Price and I can never be 100 percent on whether her “wonderful mother” act is for the cameras. Have to say I hate the jokes re Harvey as they’re in very bad taste bearing in mind his vulnerabilities and in particular Frankie Boyles which were vile.

Read an article on BBC news about grimsby using a gif of him in a tweet last night and then removing it. And then it got me thinking that while I no longer agree with jokes about him having grown up a bit. This is the sort of thing 20 years ago someone could get away with making jokes about. So by me being sensitive to how the jokes affect the family and no longer approving them. Is that what being woke is?

The thing is I have to admit I did find them funny years ago. And I think if someone said one today I'd maybe give them the benefit of the doubt initially but if they repeated it I wouldn't be able to listen to them. I agree about Katie. I doubt he's had the most stable up bringing which if anything makes me feel sorry for him a bit more. But yeh I guess my opinions on this have changed slightly in the last decade.

I liked the video when he swore on but because he’s just a youngster and not because he had a disability. There’s been some excellent documentaries on him and clearly he’s had a lot of instability in his life. He’s lucky that he probably doesn’t understand a lot of it. It’ll be interesting to see how he progresses in his adult life.

Does this opinion make me woke/cancel culture? It's called being a grown up. You can't enjoy Celebrity Juice all your life.

Youve started a thread about how you used to find jokes about a disabled child funny but you dont anymore? well done you The thread was made because of this - www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-humber-64824120Harvey Price is regularly in the news due to similar events at least once a year. In the 00s and early 10s this was more common and videos and such of Harvey regularly surfaced. As well as jokes relating to Dwight Yorke etc. I was a teenager back then and probably laughed at a lot worse things and imagine most others did too. Not sure how it makes me a cunt though? Surely being able to recognise something you once did was wrong and changing your behaviour is a good thing? On hindsight the thread hasn't went how I intended and it does indeed make me look a cunt right now. So apologies for that. I don't think I can delete it though? :/

Nice lad certainly not dealt the greatest hand in life but unlike a lot who have had a better deal he’s trying to make the best of things As for his mother she should of been in jail years ago

Just some of us are better at admitting to it than others. Fair play for putting your hands up and trying to put it right.
