If his surname was Smith, Bloggs or whatever he’d be hauled off, utter garbage.

He's still a threat Thought he was unlucky with his big chance, good defending Appalling footwork for his other chance
I'd stick with him today

The three chances he had, I think only the third was poor. First he was unlucky, did it all right but the defender got a block in, we do that in our box and its deflected in for an og! The cross for the header was a bit overhit. On the flip side, its affected him, need someone have a word and settle him down because nowts coming off now. Stick with him, if he plays shit and one goes in it all turns. Should have had Tezgel on the bench for this exact scenario imo.

Yeah, I think only one of them was a particularly poor miss.
The Radio Stoke commentary was well over the top.
But he's bound to be feeling the pressure.
Don't think the team has done much wrong at all in that half. restricted them to nothing. Just having no luck.

Bloody awful against a poor sice.

Striker is a funny position. You make a few mistakes and they are “unlucky” you make a few mistakes as a defender and you’re “shit”

Delap looks to me a player who's really just starting to get to grips at this level. Can see him doing well second half of the season.

He's 19! We are asking a huge amount from him. Just starting to look like he can make an impact in this league. Gouranga.

They're talking about Nunez for Liverpool on prime, saying he's only played big boys football for 3 years now. He will miss chances as he's still learning the game with the big boys.
And we're expecting Delap to get a hat trick evey game.

Delap should concentrate on playing the ball and not the man. He ruins potentially good positions by fouling and giving away silly free kicks. Why doesn't his Dad tell him? Constantly fouling does the side no favours.

That along with him trying to go out there and think he’s standing up against the opposition by giving stupid fouls away. Sorry but he’s not very good at all, amateur player at best.

I think this from Homzy is exactly right. He doesn't put a high enough premium on just getting hold of the ball. His mind is already whirring away trying to think of his next move, and he ends up getting caught between the 2 stools. He probably could get away with it in the u23s, against a young 18 year-old lad but he can't at this level. He's got the strength to do it. And there are loads of flashes of real potential in his general play.
For a 19yo playing his first few games of men's football, there's loads to work with. He isn't a wonderkid, but he's still capable of developing into a real player.

Expectations have proved to have been far too high but he’s also underperformed, not good at heading, tries to run through players, poor first touch and awful awful decision making. He might come good but it won’t be for us

Unfortunately the senseless Gayle signing heaped more pressure on Delap’s shoulders. He should’ve been a nice bonus accompaniment to our striker options, instead he’s basically the only physical option up front we’ve got and there’s a lot more expectation on him.
His touch is appalling, which has surprised me. His decision making isn’t great but that’s often true of young players. There’s a good player there somewhere.

Like Crouch,he never seems to get the free kicks against him,but the Ref is quick to blow up when it's the other way round.

Other than recuperation, I see no need to go benching Delap or Campbell at this point! I think dazzer is right.

Think I'm in the minority but I think he's getting sharper with every game and beginning to show his potential. I think he's getting better and I desperately want him to do well. But he keeps making stupid decisions. Obviously can't tell from the outside but his head could end up in a really bad place and I think good support from the fans might help while shitting all over him could only hurt. It's up to the coaches to work out the right level of tough love that gets him to improve.

Must see something in him when he's worked closely with him I’ll doubt that he ever makes a further 15appearances for Man City. Perhaps he’ll forge a career elsewhere, but as others have said he is very disappointing, given the fan fare that he arrived with- poor touch and little awareness of players around him.

I just don’t think he has a footballers brain and is clumsy. Whether he will improve with coaching who knows, but he certainly isn’t a fast learner and repeats his mistakes time after time.

I’ve not really seen anything from him that would suggest he’ll do well in this league, never mind the next.
