Canāt stand the bloke, hopefully heās out The daft cunt got hammered you'll be pleased to know mate, 5-1 Put more pressure on himself by fucking about with ear plugs and ear defenders. Was funny though to be fair š¤£š¤£š¤£ Price is one of the very, very few players who makes me root for MVG. If he toned the on-stage antics down he'd get an easier ride from the crowd,. I know each player used to be encouraged by Barry Hearn to have their own idiosyncrasies to make it a more interesting spectacle but you can't help but think that getting so pumped up is actually a hindrance in a sport the quintessence of which is stillness on the oche? A certain level of adrenaline is needed,Van Gerwen's a good example of someone who needs to be pushed/wound up to produce his absolute best, but Price (perhaps with coming from a rugby background- lots of physical confrontations, macho dressing room culture,) takes it to ridiculous levels. Think he did very well during lock down when he didn't have live audiences at competitions as a backdrop to contend with, you'd think he'd learn? Then again,he's probably making so much as things are,he doesn't feel the need to adapt or care particularly?!

Yep, there's only one reason why the crowd give him a rough ride and it's all down to him as you say. Not sure why he feels the need because he seems like a decent enough bloke when he's not coming the cunt on stage, and it's as if it used to get him fired up being the pantomime villain, but it's come back and bit him on the arse now and he cannot handle it. Just seen the post match analysis for the MVG game and apparently Price has released a tweet basically saying he won't play in the World's again cuz of the crowd, the big mard arse

Bit shit booing the players while theyāre throwing imo, but donāt see how you stop that? It is mate, I agree, but Price can have no complaints, he's brought it all on himself with his past antics, and those crowds are one of the reasons why he is now a millionaire. The days of "order" whilst players are throwing are long gone and as wank as the crowd can be, with their inane "stand up if you love the Darts" and the "Kolo/Yaya Toure" songs, they are the main reason why Darts players earn money they could never have imagined years ago, and we also saw during Covid just how shite The Darts is without crowds(like all sports to be fair).

Yep we could always go back to the BDO way of doing things. Low prize and low crowd expectations/revenue. The noise doesn't seem to affect other players, what's got into Price's head?

The only time I thought the booing was truly out of order (in the past) was when decent guys who'd done little or nowt to antagonise the crowd got pelters simply because they were up against media favourite Fallon Sherrock. Yes it was a great story and she's an excellent darter, but guys like Durrant were very dignified in post match interviews to play down the impact of the audience, but you can't tell me that having 2-3000 aled up punters giving you grief at the same decible levels a jet engine operates at isn't going to have a detrimental impact on your performance. As for Price,he doesn't just wind the crowd up he's doing it to get under the skin of his opponent. It's pretty needless given his darts are more than good enough to do his talking for him. Difficult to see whether he can reinvent himself with a less obnoxious stage persona,(that's if he even feels the need to.) But of the few darts players i've spoken to who play at a really good level, not one of them said they could play their best with ear plugs in as they felt it affected balance on the oche and they lost the auditory cues that are vital to them as rhythm throwers. Having said that,'whatever a man soweth ....' š

I canāt understand him getting upset about the boos though, he used to play up to it so why get all shitty about it now? I remember a few times where heās been on the wind up, clearly upset his opponent and gone on to win - no issues when heās winning, needs to take the defeats as well. Heāll be back - no way any dart player can afford not to be in it given what it means financially.

If MVG turns up like he did last night there's only one winner, he'll batter Smith.
His scoring and finishing last night would have battered peak Phil Taylor, that's how good he is when he's on form.

Smith on his day is a match for MVG but I just donāt see the consistency to win. Goes to world number one if he does though. Not got much interest tbh, not much for either of them as personalities
