Controversial opinion. I think the bigger clubs wanting Souttar are waiting us out. They know we need to sell to buy, and without buying we are in free fall. Souttar is a lot cheaper as a L1 defender then a defender playing for a club fighting for its life. God it’s so wank seeing Stoke and League 1 together in the same sentence. I will struggle to forgive those in charge if we go down even if we come back up, this could all have been easily avoided.

Things are moving...
Leicester have made an offer, around 10-million pounds: Stoke is not satisfied by this fee and talks will keep going on.

Id send all the loanees back if it were me......
Just think logically for a second - these are players that ARENT GOOD ENOUGH TO GET INTO THEIR PARENT CLUBS TEAM !
Id brng a load of our U21's in and start a conveyor belt of talent coming through.
( Right...where did I leave JC's mobile number...I'm gonna give him a call)

£10mill is not a bad initial offer. We tell them we value at 25mill they come back with £15 mill. We settle for £18mill with sell on percentages.
Let's go

Guardian journo says Cresswell is leaving Leeds. Would probably cost a few mill, and seen Sunderland mentioned. But maybe a possible Souttar replacement?

Genuinely dont want Soutts to go & its massively frustrating that we dont actually need the money, its basically just a ticket to the transfer window. Needs must at the moment though as we are past desperate for a smattering of signings

If Clarke becomes an integral part of that, he'll probably be worth 10x that.

A threat from a set play 😮sign him up Isn't/wasn't Cresswell at Millwall? Yeah - still there. But Leeds prepared to sell this month apparently. Been a bit hit and miss at Millwall One moment Charlie Cresswell, midway through a loan at Millwall, is the young central defender ranked as flavour of the month at Elland Road. Then, quickly, the sands shift and Monteiro is being targeted at the same time as Leeds are discussing whether Cresswell might be sold in this window. At least one prominent Championship club want Cresswell permanently and the option is not off the table. It is not even 18 months since the England Under-21 international made his Premier League debut, and a good one at that.

If you “think logically” for a second, the loanees are players that in 10 years will have likely had a better career than any of our current crop barring perhaps Tezgel.

Have you seen him play, or are you basing your opinion on statistics? Seen him play quite a bit, there's a reason why after scoring 30 goals in league one, nobody higher took the plunge on him, yet the likes of toney all got moves. He's not good enough for this level, he's 29 in the summer, there's no development left. He's only going to get worse from here on in. Building for League 1? He should tear it up at that level

So here we go again, our best players being hoovered up (OK we've only got one in Soutter), just like Collins was last year and all we have got to show for it is a shit show squad of our own players and a the same shit show of loanees because we have no idea how to run a football club as a business rather than a plaything and refuse to modernise and professionalise our club structure along the lines of many upwardly mobile clubs that have sailed past us with much less disposable income.
I would hope the money we get from the sale of Soutter is used wisely and improves use, but it's much more hope than expectation.
What a sorry state this club is in and it all points to our benefactors, it doesn't matter how much they love the club, they seem incapable of making the right calls and learning the lessons from the past 5/6 years. They don't need to sell, that would be the death knell for the club at this moment probably, all they need to do is hand over the strategic running of the club to professional football people, set them targets, short, medium and long term which they live or die by. In other words modernise and run the club like any other successful club or business.
I won't hold my breath.

However it does seem like AN and Martin have a bit of a plan. It does seem like Martin is beginning too run and organise the football side of things. About time someone took control

Fantastic transfer window tactics. It will either go totally tits up for us, or be an incredible achievement.
Sell or get rid of half the squad and pray that they can sign a few replacements, in the last week of the window, to add to a barebones squad.
