Can't myself see that Tezgel will be any more prolific in the first team than Delap myself, so I don't really understand the clamour to give him more match play. An odd game to see how far he has come yes. He can't be any worse than LD, I was going to go to the training ground with a cow and put a banjo in LD's hand just to make double sure. Gouranga. I know but is he any better, that is the question?

Any sniff of a Keeper yet? Been banging on for a year + that is #1 signing needed, only seeing midfielders mentioned. Christ alive don't let it go another window again.

Looks like we are in for plenty of changes come the end of the window. Hopefully the rumoured outgoings and incomings have had some thought put into them rather than the seemingly “let’s throw stuff in the air and see how it lands” approach.

He's scoring for fun in the U21 team so if he isn't any worse than Delap give him a chance, we have the advantage of him being our own player so we have nothing to lose, it's not a gamble it's common sense. If things aren't right and he isn't ready he can develop here until we think he is. Gouranga.

He's not a centre forward though is he. Needs to play up and with one. We've already got plenty of that type of option.

I dont think anyone is suggesting that Tezgel is the answer today, but if you look at the others such as Delap, Gayle and even Campbell and Brown, could he do worse? I am not sure he could, plus do we want another loan player (which would probably fail in the same way Maja, Delap, Motando, Bidace and Clarke did) from another club to take Tezgels place? For me he should have time on the bench, have minutes here and there and slowly start to integrate him into the side, then who knows, look at what Owen did all those years ago when he was just 16, Rooney at 16. You never know! You can't really compare Tezgel to Owen and Rooney. They were forces of nature, generational talents that only drop once every so often. They were also hugely prolific in their youth teams. Tezgel had scored goals but could he make the same impact on our first team like Owen and Rooney did for theirs? It's a big ask, especially as we're struggling. But I agree, I would like to see Tezgel gradually given more minutes each game and if he shows glimpses of real talent, to start him in a game and see how he gets along. The likes of Owen and Rooney had unique physiology didn't they? Both short and stocky, loads of power and explosive pace at a young age. If Rooney hadn't got injured he would have won Euro 2004 for England. Both wore themselves out early I watched Tezgel again last night and there's going to be a cracking player there but he's building up that power in his legs, he needs to build his strength more. We should give him time off the bench the rest of this season but no, he's not ready to start.

Duck Mag mentions possible interest in unnamed Brentford player? Lewis Potter Charlie Goode Shandon Baptiste MB Sorensen would be good, he’s 6th choice CB. Lewis Potter has been very poor this season, taking along time to adjust to the PL Shandon Baptiste is the loan I wished we’d had instead of Fosu Charlie Goode isn’t

We should give him time off the bench the rest of this season but no, he's not ready to start. To be fair to Rooney he kept playing until his mid thirties. I went to the game Stoke lost 3-0 at Pride Park in his first season there when he was about 33 and he completely ran the show from midfield. Won the game for them by himself. You never lose quality and he was able to adapt his game to a deep lying position where acceleration wasn't so necessary.
