Clarke has been fine. We needed a right back and he has done a decent job there. Clarke is shite, he tries but ultimately he's not good enough, it's a shame Sterling is made of biscuits or he wouldn't be getting a look in. I disagree. He’s about par for this league. He doesn’t really cost us many goals and he adds physicality, which is appallingly missing throughout the squad. If Sterling was fit, I’d play Clarke as a right centre back alongside Souttar (Jagielka if he goes) and Wilmot. The only time we’ve looked good fairly consistently in the last 18 months was a 532 that had two mobile centre halves.

His energy, effort, aggression and directness are all positives given they're not abundant in the rest of the team but he is a surprisingly poor footballer. Arsenal, are they sure ????

Plus he was signed to be a wing back in a system reliant on wing backs, just more muddled thinking that's contributed to the mess.

With the news of Delap's departure, purely from a PR point of view, some announcement soon abut a new signing, loan or otherwise, would be good.

Jack who is now at Sunderland looking 10 x the player he was whilst here. Obviously. Hadn’t he been injured just before we brought him in? They also spent big on him and he’s been with them for some time. Young players are bound to make progress. Jack Clarke was going to be a decent player. How decent, who knows? But they put their faith in him more than we did.

I think Tezgel has great potential but the lad is 17 and certainly not going to influence our season. Why would we think that he could? I dont think anyone is suggesting that Tezgel is the answer today, but if you look at the others such as Delap, Gayle and even Campbell and Brown, could he do worse? I am not sure he could, plus do we want another loan player (which would probably fail in the same way Maja, Delap, Motando, Bidace and Clarke did) from another club to take Tezgels place? For me he should have time on the bench, have minutes here and there and slowly start to integrate him into the side, then who knows, look at what Owen did all those years ago when he was just 16, Rooney at 16. You never know! He couldn't do worse but I certainly cant stand to add the best local, academy grown, striker we've produced in a long long time to the scrapheap of other players. The lad needs time away from the club if anything, chance to grow up a bit, make some mistakes and come back a little more ready to play in front of a home crowd. I just cant deal with hype/pressure/no good cycle again with a lad like this. He needs protecting at all costs

I think I'll cry if we sign Jordan Hugill. Need to stop signing players whose careers are on the way down.......... We normally sort that for them after they have signed anyway, we're just beating the curve.

Hopefully Keane Lewis-Potter or its a defender Pontus Jansen or Pinnock CB makes sense if Flint is off, but then Neil said he wanted to keep Taylor here as well. Can't see a loan signing from Brentford being a Souttar replacement. Canos would be an excellent signing, but he's getting PL game time isn't he?

Canos' family still live in Liverpool as they own and run a restaurant there so he might fancy a move to the North West.........
