I feel for the bloke, these drivers are under intense pressure, working to stringent deadlines and now he's lost his job. Furthermore, this is a perfect example of why these protesters, protesting ad hoc, has to be stopped. Are we going to wait until somebody is seriously injured (or even worse) before something is done about it? Has he lost his job? Missed it if that's the case....... Well he's going to lose his licence for driving away from an accident and not reporting damage to public property and he's not going to have a driving job without a licence.

If it gets to that stage he probably will yeah. I work in logistics and we would simply ask a driver to phone through to his local depot to report a delay that was out of his control, I understand his frustration but you can't go doing what he did it's fairly reckless........

I didn't say it wasn't reckless, just that I had sympathy for him. I assume that your drivers are salaried, whilst many drivers (not necessarily this one) are on zero hours contracts and are paid piecemeal. And as there is video evidence of what happened, I would imagine it's pretty much inevitable that it will get to that stage.

Some are on fixed salaries, some hourly paid and other get a enhancement for number of drops etc it depends on the contract they work on. I too have sympathy for the guy, but he wouldn't have done that if there was a delay caused by an RTA or a police incident he would have tried to source an alternative route or sat in it and waited, as frustrating as it is he should have done the same here.......

He should, I've already said that it was reckless. Hopefully the police will start removing them before somebody gets seriously hurt.

Blocking a public highway is an offence .so you are telling me if you were on a highway and these people were blocking it would you just sit there....what if members of the public removed the protesters from the highway would you still drive down it or find an alternative route

Well he's going to lose his licence for driving away from an accident and not reporting damage to public property and he's not going to have a driving job without a licence. He has 24hrs to report it as with any damage only road traffic incident so the driver may still be in time to report it legally.

Someone will loose their sh1t with this lot and it will not end well - why is it we have to wait for such an event before we do something about it - right to protest fine, get a rally organised and assemble Trafalger Square one weekend etc etc - but this passive terrorism is surely unlawful when it impacts ordinary people doing legitimate and everyday things

Interesting latest protest… The thing with protest is that it becomes absolutely futile unless you take people with you. They are completely misreading the room here and in fact I would argue, that they are actually HARMING the cause they claim to care about. People who might be persuaded to think about climate change for the first time, will see these antics and think "environmentalists, fuck 'em, bunch of idiots!"
