Jason McAteer on NBC’s Fan Fest from Philly this morning.
Needless to state but the rest of the interview was him stressing the schedule, the injuries, having to do tours to Asia, cant train because of the fixture pile up…having to change the old system…
And on, and on, and on.
And all in an annoying accent.

To be fair, he was in Philly not Anfield. If they win, he can carry on the City’s tradition of trashing their own place.

When McAteer was at Blackburn he was out for a drink one night when he came across an old Liverpool team-mate. The draw for the FA Cup was on and McAteer said how funny it'd be if their two clubs drew each other.
The Liverpool player pointed out that it was the first round draw they were watching and that their two sides only entered at the third round stage.
Not the sharpest is our Jason.

Recall a story that Neil Ruddock told that him and Mcateer were out and that Mcateer had applied for some form of finance and when filling out the application form it asked what his employment position was and he wrote midfield.....🤡

I saw Jason McAteer break his leg for Liverpool against Blackburn in 1998. Notable because it was the only interesting thing that happened in the game. Only time I’ve ever been to Anfield.
True story.

McAteer was one of about 18 members of the mid-90s Liverpool team that was nicknamed “Trigger”.
