Not a great away day experience for me today, my daughter was hit by a flare after they scored and was very lucky that it exploded against the concrete and not her legs as she was wearing shorts. Very very upset and has a massive bruise on her hip š¤¬š³
Thanks to the Stokies who came over to see if she was ok

Me too. I'd be surprised if we avoid relegation Attendances are heading towards the 99/00 era too. Nah, we might bottom out around 16/17k but I still have hopes that we'll look much better after the world cup. In a way that world cup break has become ideal for us, it'll be like a mini pre-season. Attendances used to be far lower. I can remember 10-12k crowds in this division 15-20 years ago. 15k felt bumper. The premiership years grew the matchgoing fanbase again because attending matches is a habit.

That was worse than a MON game.
Reading have had incredibly bad financial problems, nearly relegated last season, favourites for relegation this season.
They lost 4-0 to Rotherham midweek.
AN says we need to press more, ha ha ha ha these players don't know what that means.
How many stupid, avoidable fouls did we give away second half when chasing the game, that's just common sense.
Our defence is hopeless, what does O'Shea do ?
We have been completely out fought, out run, out muscled and out played today.

Being optimistic ... the season we got promoted from the third tier in 1992-93 under Macari, had us start with 7 points from 7 games. Thus, wins in the next 2 matches and it could be a different story to what we see now. Question is, can the new manager turn things around this quickly?

MON would have got pelters for setting up that team in that formation and producing the performance we got. I can only hope and pray that AN is trying formations out to see what does work. It's got to be better than sticking with one system only. Having said that, the second half was absolutely woeful. With Powell coming back, 4-2-3-1 is the only formation we should be playing. Bonham Wilmot Jagielka Flint Fox Baker Thompson Brown Powell Gayle Delap Only player not in the right position is Wilmot. Hopefully Sterling gets fit soon and Wilmot can replace Flint/Jagielka.

Watching SCFC is a truly life sapping experience. I've not enjoyed football at a local level for about 5 years now, bar the odd flurry. That's why I'm watching so many more Premier League games to remind me what actual football looks like. These players are fucking awful. Canāt remember a shred of entertainment for years. The day is coming where Iām just going to look for the result and sod the rest of it.

Good point about the timing of the World Cup which will shortly be followed by the reopening of the transfer window. We do have a manager who knows what heās doing so hopefully he will start to understand very quickly who amongst this motley bunch he can trust to do even the basic things! BM

Only caught bits of the second half commentary but from what I heard that team selection bordered on anything that ON put out, Fosu LWB???, Clucas actually starting, Brown RWB.
Insane

At least Alex Neil know how most of his squad perform - I an only think of that as the excuse for some of his initial selections today. Now he has no excuse for picking some of those players again.
I was most disappointed in the fight we showed (or didn't). Having been told in the press conference that the players had been told that they had to fight to earn the chance to play, I saw no evidence that the message had got through. We still strolled around, stroking the ball five yards expecting to just walk the ball into the area never mind the goal. I saw no urgency in fact I thought it was worse than under MON.
I wonder how many of those players are disappointed at the managerial change? There was no passion from Brown. I know he was wide right but he has played there for MON far more effectively. No effort from Campbell whatsoever. Having read that he and Delap looked to be on the same wave length there seemed no connection at all between the two of them (perhaps both disappointed that MON has gone. Baker never got into a shooting position, Fosu looked nowhere near the passionate player he told us he was.

Just got out out. The fitness levels that AN has been left with is frighteningly bad....how every player can be that far off the pace is scary.
I would love to know what MON and Holden were actually doing in pre season.

What can Niel do with this pile of Crap that O'Niel put together? Itās gonna take a while it would seem - although I thought for a while weād get something out of today I guess itās unrealistic and naive to expect an immediate improvementā¦ā¦.a new manager bounce wouldāve been nice but weāve got some seriously underperforming players or indeed just not good enough whatever the managerā¦..

There is a cross, donāt sue me but I think around the 75th min, and there is an iso on Bonham.
Comedy gold, especially the disco arm throw.
Someone with that kind of skill (Wreckit?) should do the goal plus that in slow mo to Yakkity Sax.
I shall demand 50% as co creator

Tom Ince turning in peak āagainst Derbyā performance today, more tackles today than he managed in his career for usā¦
We were absolutely outmuscled today all over the place. Our response was to continually give away the stupidest of tackles (including the penalties). We had a lot of ball first half but looked shambolic whenever they got near the box.
Every player needed two touches before passing to the closest man or telegraphing the long ball right onto their defenders head. That training session that was shared on social media showed the players doing one touch passing and actually moving the ball quickly, hopefully they can start to do that quite quickly and get us playing at a higher tempo.

Awful performance... not one player looking comfortable in his position ALL look unfit No fight No idea what to do with the ball Canāt defend without it (lack of pace at the back is so obvious) Last seasons top scorer playing out wide Defenders who wouldnāt catch Ironside (in his wheel chair) Welcome to Rock Bottom !!!! It can only get better from today ????????

Said if we didn't get a Championship quality GK in the window it'd cost us points. Here we are. Bonham, Bursik and Fielding are League 1 and that is being kind as most likely this is all of the Championship they should ever see. Flint is absolute garbage btw, too slow to partner any CB next to he leaves holes for opposition to run in front and behind him.

That is a very good question. I mentioned the different evaluations of our players last year. Are they a top 6 squad and Clucas one of our best players as bayern has said . Or are they all shit players or just unfit. Which is it? Unfit shite.
