I thought this thread was going to be about a player called Patience that we were "monitoring".
Well Watford had a Success!

Fuck me, he doesn't half come out with some twaddle!
βWe will continue to work. Weβve got a good group of players here, weβve got a good team potentially in the dressing room if we can get players back and new players up to speed. Then I suppose the responsibility lies with us all to start winning games.β
Really Michael, you 'suppose' the the responsibility lies with you. There was me thinking it lay with the Aga Khan or Kim jong un. Thanks for clarifying.

I only went as far as the title, but so far he seems to think there's nothing wrong with what he's doing and that its the players that are struggling to deliver, if thats what he really thinks its a worry as Clive Clarke said there's plenty of experience in that squad.

And this is the 5th longest-serving manager in the league, with a top-half budget.
He's got some balls to be using this line of excuse-making three years in.

My understanding of his patience comment was aimed at the board and not the fans

He needs to be a bit more specific with his patience plea. What are we being patient for ? If itβs for young players to develop well unfortunately by the time they have a good chunk of them will be heading back to their parent clubs. If itβs for the team to perfect the system they are being asked to play well if they ainβt grasped it by now how much longer will it take? Itβs a results game and frankly his record is as sketchy as hell on that front.

He's a clown. All he's doing is fanning the flames of discontent and disconnect among the supporters.
Dead Man Walking.
I just wish the Board would take action and pull the trigger.
I've just sent a stinking e-mail to the club, be interesting to see if I get any response, even a mealy mouthed one confirming their confidence in the clown.

Beneath all of that is a serious point though, which is linked to the current situation. If things turn properly toxic then, especially with the makeup of the squad, it puts the next man in in a very difficult situation trying to lift a young squad and give them confidence.
It could actually pull the rug from under the next manager before he's even put his feet down on it.
It's a situation the board have got to manage and manage properly.

I don't think anyone has that much of an issue with the players though. Yes, some of them are underperforming and look short on confidence, but you know the underperformance is coming from playing a ridiculous system employed by the manager. Surely even the players must know it's not really aimed at them (some of it is, as it should be when they make errors like they are), but the manager himself.

It seems MON's idea of 'controlling' a game is how many times the ball gets passed sideways and backwards between 3 centre backs who don't actually know what they are doing when a simple ball is pinged over the top.
He has had multiple 'rebuilds' of the squad, yet we keep seeing the same boring, negative, soulless football. At some point he has to take full responsibility.

Seems like he's putting all his eggs in the Tymon, Souttar, Powell (and to a lesser extent) Laurant, getting fit basket (which I guess we all are really), even though there's nothing to suggest they'll be our saviours...... But until then, we'll have to put up with the dross football and losing!!!

With all this horseshit MON spouts after every game, he reminds me of the mayor of Amity island in Jaws. When asked if he was going to close the beaches, he just buried his head in the sand and said everything will be ok. Just substitute shark attack for relegation and there you have it. Strange comparison I know, but it works for me.

I cannot believe Coco saying we have made progress. We have been static for two and a half seasons, at best, despite him bringing in 30 or so new faces, which have failed to improve us. Go now and give us a chance. Patience? I think we have been very patient for too long already. Resign and admit you have failed rather than prolonging the agony.

There are obviously different styles of management, but the gulf between the Stoke and Sunderland management was immense on Saturday. Alex Neill was consistently cajoling his players and was willing to make changes when needed and early. For instance at half time he removed from the firing line a right sided defender who was clearly struggling to contain the pace and energy of Delap. The week before O'Neill's inflexibility left Sparrow out to dry.

I thought he was geat when he first came and kept us up- and played some good football as well. Since then he has gone into a shell and become so afraid of doing anything, setting up not to lose rather than win. We knew the summer was going to have a big change of personnel but that has given him the chance to build his team/squad although with the obstacle of FFP. However, he has got stuck on 3 at the back system but has failed to get the correct players to play it, and he appears to be the only one that can't see it. That, and the football we play is just sucking any enthusiasm I have for watching. I'd say I don't care any more but the most painful thing is that I do.

Our record in the league since last December is horrendous. It's actually a bit of a joke that he's still anywhere near this job.
