You'll get to 30-40 first against most normal cars... after that it's about it. Most 125s (new) are limited BHP and this can be altered by an engineer. You have to tell your insurance and its illegal if you haven't passed your test---- then that's up to you--- don't tell your insurance if that's your lifestyle. They're a great town run around and as the previous poster says it's little fuel and you weave in traffic. If in town traffic is your current thing then a good little purchase. Enjoy.

it'll be about 12Hp , off the blocks you should be able to outdrag most superminis and vans, but watch out for new vans, they have powerful engines, like mine, which has pissed off quite a few 125s round london .
As for top speed, thats down to you , sit up and it'll be around 65-70, get your head down and make yourself more aerodynamic , and you should get over 70mph . i used to get my Yamaha SR125 bike upto an indicated 80 by getting my head down level with the bars . as for economy you should be getting between 80 and 100 to gallon even thrashing it , mine never dipped below 80mpg and that was when I was couriering it with the throttled against the stop all the time .
get your test taken ASAP and get a real bike

Had a Yamaha DT 125 a few years ago, great for getting through the rush hour traffic and cheap to run, even with todays petrol prices. A 125 is a lot less powerful than a car but also a lot lighter (obviously) so it doesn't need as much power. 60mph on a bike seems so much faster than 60mph in a car. Enjoy!!

0.125cc fiesta is normally 1000.00cc That's not quite accurate is it. That would make a fiesta ten thousand times more powerful! ;D

a 125 is 1/8th of a litre , or just under quater of a pint , a lot of small cars have a 1 Litre engine, so about 8 times bigger , but they also weigh a lot more , i could pick my 125 up no bother it was about 80-90Kg , most small cars weight about a tonne (1000kgs)

We've got an automatic 125 over here for when we don't want use the car . . . never ridden a twist n go before alway had bike with gears - but have to say it's rather amusing to ride! Also a loony brit whose ridden big bikes put on a 125cc automatic on the road where most people get a nosebleed above 50kmph (yes Kmph) is also amusing as I end up overtaking pretty much everything on the road! Not fully run in yet as it's only done 300km so I'm holding out before I thrash the living daylights out of it to see what the top end is! ;D But all in all not bad for £450 . . new that is ps. . . yes 150 in broad daylight does feel fast M25 (dartmouth tunnel) to Sandbach in 2hr 30mins . .. no bother Just got back from Assen and wanted get home .. ;D

Have got a Tornado up in Buriram, S and ideal for there- cost about 1000 UK new. P has a 125 and uses more than her car as ideal for weaving in and out of the horrendous traffic.
You see 10 year old kids going to school on their 'Fino' mopeds- quite funny when 4 or 5 sat/stood on 1 bike
