Dyche would be alright but not very inspiring to be fair, don’t think the football would be great and I think we have a good squad going forward. We are weak at the back and in goal and the way Burnley played they really relied heavily on the defence and GK. Thinking back, Burnley pretty much had stand out keepers the whole time Dyche was there, Heaton had a great spell and then they got Pope who I think is a top top player and bailed them out consistently. Personally would like to see a manager that plays a more attacking game as I think it will suit us better. In an ideal world, I'd agree with you. That's why I will spit no dummy if they don't hire him but hire one like you described. Oh how I'd like to see attacking/counterattacking football here!

Like most on here I guess I have mixed feelings about Sean Dyche… PROS Track record of promotions to PL Track record of survival in PL Bigger presence in dressing room Signed Collins Good defensively - where we need to improve Seems to fit the “Stoke working class Brit” vibe CONS Unlikely to achieve 3 x 9th place PL finishes Tactics a bit predictable Football not always “edge of seat” Unproven attackingly/press where we need to improve Overall NET positive - certainly compared to previous 3 managers although MON deserves credit for 2019 Under cons Don’t forget to put he sold us or robbed us with Sam Vokes

To be honest fuck sexy football even though it is good to watch I just want us to work be horrible and most of all hated again as that means we are doing well !! How much fun did we have under TP against teams like Arsenal etc If we can be solid at the back and just a bit more expansive with a bit more flair and excitement that will do for me Maybe Dyche is the man who knows People forget Hughes was lucky he had a Pulis spine in the Team which got old and sold After that the writing was on the wall Personally I think O’Neill has built a good squad probably the best in the division but he lacked the nouse of how to get them to play or to change tactically that is his downfall his Achilles heal Everyone speaks highly of him so he’s well thought of but it is time to move on I’m thankful he kept us up and thankful he’s ridded us of the majority of the greedy can’t be arsed overpaid players that have blighted our club for a few seasons now Plenty of mistakes have been made at all levels So good luck michael O’Neill And it’s over to you board to prove you have learned and to make us proud again

I disagree. Let's not delude ourselves. Our goalkeepers are below par. Our defence, man for man, is pretty crap. Our midfield, we have a couple of decent options, then a few we just don't know much about (Kilkenny, Smallbone). Up top, I'd agree, that front line should really be the envy of most sides at this level.

I hope the height of ambition isn't just be 'orrible and despised.
You don't get someone like Pep to part with his prized assets if that's all you are.
Massive cons for me: Wave goodbye to attracting U21s and bringing through youth like Tezgel, with a pathway. Wave goodbye to the respect of PL managers to develop their young players on loan.
It just whiffs of "we are little old Stoke and our brand is you hate us. The reason I supported Stoke was because we outplayed Leeds, Derby, Chelsea and Man United in the 70s with a great brand of football. I like to see players in red and white make me jump up.
I don't want to be a pushover any more than anyone else, but I don't want to be 'orrible and bored.

Being horrible and hated is a really odd ambition for something you spend good money and a chunk of your leisure time doing. Not sure whether it requires sympathy or medication.

I agree fully and hope you read praised for your intellect and common sense 😂 I loved being both feared and hated. When opposition teams lost before they got onto the pitch! Rather than now, when we have lost before our feet felt grass. The best line above, having good players is one thing, getting a tune out of them is another. We need someone who can get a tune. I’ll name that tune in three. Horrible winning ugly.
