Poor goal to concede but we've played better than expected without really threatening too much. Clarke hasn't really offered anything so far and we need a goal so we should look to bring Brown on for him and go 433. Clucas has been better than expected but Smallbone needs to come on to give us more going forward. Don't feel we have enough forward options on the bench today. Clarke looks like he might be a decent right back. A wing back he is not (which everyone knew apart from MON and the brains trust it seems) TBF he looks much more like a CB not even a modern attacking FB.

Genuinely not sure our forwards even touched the ball more three times in the first half hour?
play it in to feet, there is not target man and hoofing doesn't work. (Shock........)

The sad thing is that no Stoke supporter will be surprised with that first half performance.
Zero creativity again. He'll be the first manager sacked in this league if this dross continues.

i've seen the replay of the goal, and it goes slightly left of centre. Joe Bursik appears to be getting pushed, but you've got to be stronger and at least stand in the middle of your fucking goal.

its a special kind of willful negligence to weld yourself to 5-3-2 and not sign a specialist in the key position for that to work. Namely wing backs for both sides (assuming Tymon works as one of them).

Thought we've played alright in that half. Stupid goal to concede but aside from that don't think we were particularly threatened. Campbell looking much sharper than last season. Taylor having a very good game. Clarke seems a bit more confident today and trying to make things happen. Laurent also playing with good energy. And we've still got options on the bench that can turn things around in smallbone, brown, Kilkenny etc. The Den is a hard place to play. Millwall got 45 points at home last season only one less to Fulham and Bournemouth. I know it's not particularly fashionable on the oatcake to show any positivity but I feel we're still well in this game and could get something out of it. Very hard place to play our first game of the season without Powell and Souttar. We are playing okay, but it's difficult to see how we will score at the moment.

I think they've played exactly how I expected, creating very little with the midfield not really sure what they should be doing. We need something different on the pitch if we're going to get anything from this game, I think you're right and we need Smallbone to come on.

Can't say I agree. We've had 1 shot. They look more like getting a second than we do of getting an equaliser and they've barely threatened themselves. Glass half full / half empty. Millwall have only had one shot on target which was the goal from the corner. We've got some good balls into the box and even into the feet of gayle, just lacked that instinct and initiative at times. Aside from the Millwall goal, what other good chance have they had? We aren't getting enough men forward quick enough that's the main problem and why we consistently lack goalscoring opportunities. They just look threatening on every set play they have tbh. Their man wanted it far more than ours did, that's what it boils down to when the sides are similarly matched.

Wilmot having an absolute shocker. One of the worst Centre half performances I've ever seen at this club.

The sad thing is that no Stoke supporter will be surprised with that first half performance. Zero creativity again. He'll be the first manager sacked in this league if this dross continues. If only. They'll stick with him til at least January then it will be getting someone to save us from the drop.

Hmmm, not to sure I agree tbh, the midfield has been second to the ball for most of the game and look lost. I wouldn't like to comment on how they've played as a unit, those were my positives only. Fair enough, I agree about Taylor though, he's looked solid.
