I think I'm right saying we still have no club president since sir Gordon sadly vacated the role, does anyone know why this is? And who should it be?

Jesus wept, give it a rest. It's an ambassadorial role that's doing absolutely no harm.

I think, in Stoke's case, the role is used as a form of Club Honour and recognition, to show respect and appreciation to a club legend. Many on here might want to make TP Club President, but I would think someone like Denis Smith or even Ryan Shawcross.

Shawcross should have many better things to be doing. At least with Banks you had that world recognition that was a bit of marketing too. I presume Conroy gets paid by the club for his role on match days , I’d much rather they got paid roles like that and have a few of them to do stuff. But to actually do events and things, they earn a bit of money and I’d imagine it’s great for their mental well-being too.

Christ on a bike! What is wrong with people? Of course it's ambassadorial and of course we don't NEED one (and I'm pretty sure it's unpaid) but it's nice to honour genuine legends right!

I think I'm right saying we still have no club president since sir Gordon sadly vacated the role, does anyone know why this is? And who should it be? We were so fortunate to have two worldwide football personalities with a long standing association to the club of Stoke City and with the people of Stoke on Trent, they were and are simply irreplaceable so the position of club president should be left closed in their memory until someone comes along to equal their achievements, maybe the young man who today starts his professional career with Stoke can be the one ?

You asked a question and have some answers. We can only presume the club don’t think it really matters either. Or that like the post above suggests it’s a difficult act to follow.

I take it the guy you are talking about who's not Gordon is the one who cost us our only realistic shot at the title by leaving to join a team with no games left to play? That guy right?

It's a role where profile is all.
On that basis I would approach Peter Crouch.
He played more for us than anyone else and he might even say 'yes'.
