2 German based strikers yesterday, Delap and Joao today?.... hmm If they are anything like a certain German we signed from Spurs forget 'em! If they are anything like a certain German we signed from Middlesbrough, remember ‘em! (* many Germans are very good at football/ who was the German from spurs?)

No, the prancer with jazz hands. Help me out, what's his name? Rhymes with rimmer and I forgot the Austrian bit.

What would be romantic about him coming to the Potteries and why would Guardiola even think about that? I don't see the romance in Liam coming here just because Rory was a success and works for the club... Really? Perhaps there is a little. Or maybe a lot given he was on the pitch with his dad as a boy. There will definitely be a lot if he starts banging them in.

Now there is romance in that.

Really don’t think a Prem club is the right move for him. He doesn’t strike me as a striker than can “do a job” out wide so for most teams he’ll be competing for a single #9 role, and most teams already have one of those or will be signing one with more a proven track record, so he could very easily end up playing very few minutes unless he somehow displaces the existing #9.

I can think of a few teams where he would be strongly competing for a place if he's as good as he's supposed to be - Leeds, Forest, Bournemouth, Southampton, Everton spring immediately to mind.

If you were Man City, would you like him to get some development abroad?

If you were Man City, would you like him to get some development abroad? No, keep him close at home at a club you can trust to coach him properly the way you want him to play.

If you were Man City, would you like him to get some development abroad? Not Man City/Delap specifically but I think this is a really interesting point. A lot of young British players are going abroad and developing really well. Is that because they’re the elite and are backing them selves? Or is it the actual experience developing them. Sancho, musiala and Hickey jump out immediately. I didn’t include Bellingham in that because he transferred.

My opinion is that the big thing players in academies need to acclimatise to is the pace of first team football and how little time they have on the ball. I think in Europe generally the pace of the game is slower and you have longer to make decisions.

When he played for England he looked incredibly average. I think MU seriously dropped one with him .

Liam Delap has scored for England after 6 minutes against Israel in their last group game of the U19 Euros in Slovakia. England lead 1-0 at half time. You can watch the second half on the BBC red button now.

Test Cricket & Glastonbury coverage just doesn't quite cut it the same on a weekend

I think it was a good signing but then they decided to sign Ronaldo within weeks almost completely altering the way they had to play, if it had been him playing with Rashford / Greenwood ie pace its a different story but apart from Chelsea away was it, where he scored or set up a goal hes basically looked like a £70m Tom Ince.....

He's like Nathan Redmond on an off day. Prime example of a player being way way overpriced here as he plays for a foreign club.

As Man City have announced they are willing to let Liam Delap out would we be in pole position to get him at the 365 I don’t see why we would. We aren’t in the PL, we aren’t likely to be able to afford his wages and a substantial loan fee. The only reason we are really linked is because his father. I don’t know why he’d want to join for that reason: surely his Dad has taught him all he can by now and surely it will just ruffle feathers in the camp if he’s perceived to be favoured over others.
