Wholesale changes I reckon in what will be the final match of a long season before the season starts in 7-8 weeks

Hopefully we score from open play in this one.
Appreciate these games are quite ill-timed but there's hardly a lot of confidence to be taken. The players have to bear the responsibility.
At the same time two creditable draws against top tier international opposition in Germany and Italy isn't too shabby.
It wasn't too long ago people were saying we always lose against these kind of sides. Get the impression that plenty of England 'fans' are almost willing us to fail so they can say 'I told you so' against Southgate.

I still don't understand that the competition actually is.

Don't gift them a goal like last time at Wembley. Hungary spent the rest of the game defending it and escaped with a 1-1. Southgate must know the many body of the team already and who's to say one or two will gain an injury fall out of form as much as someone may get a load of goals at the start of next season. The problem will be best GK, CD and who will score other than Kane.

I still don't understand that the competition actually is. There used to be all those friendlies played after season and some in between. Club bosses would complain at the pointlessness of such games but admitted that there had to be some form of preparation before national teams played important world cup/euro qualifyers. So the UEFA created a pointless competition that would also help set the seedings for the future big cups. Now you have roughly the same amount of games played over the course of a year but this year assembled in a four game stretch of 11 days. So now club bosses - and players - complain that this is the football holiday season and what is the point of having players play games when they should be relaxing in the bars and beaches on the south coast of europe... Next complaint, please!

What does Southgate have against Grealish? Is he just too attack minded, and that scares Southgate?

Lovely you racist bastards over the Hungary anthem followed by a great rendition of God save the Queen.
You'd have none of that at Wembley.
Apart from major games England should make an habit of touring round the country.

Really worrying this isn't it. No goal in open play in just under 5 hours of football. Lack of any sort of game plan. Yes they're tired but we should be seeing glimpses.
With 2 games to go till the World Cup best hope these boys have a good first half in the prem and carry it into the World Cup otherwise the group stage may even be a challenge.

Yet another match where the team look like they been told to increase their possession stats rather than risk a shot. If only games could be won on number of passes backwards.

May improve and prove me wrong but I'm not feeling Reece James, Saka, and to a lesser extent Phillips.

Slow slow, sideways, slower.

Just lack of any urgency and intensity. No cohesion either. Bowen nowhere near good enough as well. Rashford would do a better job and he's been shit all season.

Apart from major games England should make an habit of touring round the country. You had the booing at Wembley then it all kicked off with the Hungarians being accused of insulting the stewards as they were Asian. Mass brawl against the stewards and police as they tried to apprehend certain people. The FA need the money hence the use and yes when England played Kosovo at Southampton the atmosphere was far better but you are up close to the sidelines where as Wembley you are a far way back. Again FA need the revenue Wembley usual gets 70K against outgrounds of 35K.

Over the last two years I wouldn't have him down Stoke! Long way back for him, if at all

May improve and prove me wrong but I'm not feeling Reece James, Saka, and to a lesser extent Phillips. James is one of the best right backs/right wing backs in world football (possibly THE best) just a pity that for some (unfathomable) reason Southgate has decided to play him on the left.

We are terrifyingly bad at the moment. I know it’s at the end of a hard season, but that’s the same for our opposition in these games. We’ve looked a disorganised rabble. What on earth has happened?

Didn't he play on the right in the other game? For Chelsea he's been good, but so far he just seems to play within himself, which can often happen when some young players play for England. Need to get rid of all nerves and worry, and go play your own game
