Tom Heaton is 3rd choice at Man U. Bego still highly capable The worry is that MON says Bonham and Bursik will fight it out for the number one spot. If that's the case we'll continue to drop silly points

Not really... You said "yeah, he'll be chomping at the bit to come here"... Detecting a huge amount of sarcasm... So should we just not to try sign anyone then? Signing England squad players isn't likely is it Bursik is in the England squad

www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/20131992.middlesbrough-make-move-newcastle-keeper-karl-darlow/Boro should be able to reach an agreement over a transfer fee. Matching Darlow’s current Newcastle wages could be more of an issue, but it is hoped a deal can be thrashed out ahead of the formal reopening of the transfer window later this summer. Boro’s recruitment team have also been running the rule over Daniel Iversen, who has spent the current campaign at Preston on loan from Leicester City. Preston are keen to sign Iversen on a permanent basis this summer, but Boro have asked Leicester officials to make them aware of any developments.

Not a fan of Darlow myself when I have seen him with Forest, very average!

I thought Brad Collins from Barnsley had a great game when they came to the Brit. Just been relegated with them too so might be able to pick him up.

Don’t get why people think Bursik might eventually be THE ONE. He’s proven he doesn’t have the basics. Loaning him out to a second tier team in Madagascar or wherever isn’t going to give him what he doesn’t have.

Didn’t we sign Barnsley’s last number one, who was quite unpopular here? I had no issues with Davies, I thought he was more dependable than any other keepers we've had recently. He was brilliant too in our win away at QPR this season.

I agree with Caddick above. I had far more confidence in Davies than with the other two.

From Talksport transfer rumours:
Bournemouth, meanwhile, had a £3.5m bid for Blackburn midfielder Joe Rothwell rejected in January and will step up their attempts to bring in the 27-year-old now he is a free agent.
Stoke’s England under-21 goalkeeper Joe Bursik is also a potential target as Parker’s men look for competition for Supporters’ Players of the Year Mark Travers.

Interesting as I think Bournemouth is his transfer speciality and he's normally well connected there

She used to work at Greens. And don't they live Cheadle way now? But no thanks anyway. They don’t. They recently bought a house in Leamington Spa I think it is. Her Mum lives near Cheadle.

Is he old enough for a Bosman next summer when his contract expires?
Not sure how you'd begin to work out a fee.

Tell Boremouth they can have him - £20m or fuck off.

I think Joe may well be on his way given the disparity between what he thinks of himself and the manager's opinion. The GK situation has been the cause of angst and argument on here all season and I'm slowly coming round to the view that we should look elsewhere for a number 1.

I'd certainly let Bursik go if we got a bid above £3M.

This falls into the Collins category for me - have we become the sort of club who sells medium / long term potential quality to buy short term ‘do a job in the championship’ quantity? We probably have and it’s a bit depressing.

Haven't seen enough to convince me he's worth keeping. The shot stopping weakness is a big worry because most of that is instinctive and is difficult to coach. If you haven't got it by now, you usually will never have it. So if his England under 21 status can inflate his price tag we should snap their hand off.
He may well go on to be great and prove me wrong, but I just can't see it.

We probably have and it’s a bit depressing. Collins stood out and perhaps without the FFP thing we wouldn't have sold him. Any Championship player who a Prem team wants will surely see it as a decent move, it's not the kind of club we've become for me it's the fact that were in The Championship. As for Bursik, he's not a stand out player at this level and would make sense to let him go for a decent fee for me. It's not like we'd struggle to replace him.

What we have done poorly with Collins and Bursik is not played either to get the most money for their potential.

So could have been done worse, surely.
