Anyone know if it's possible to buy extension monitors (7") for portable DVD players. I've got a player that I use all the time for teh kids, but with some long journeys coming up I want to rig it up in the car without going to the expense of buying one of those twin DVD units.
It basically just has to be a small montior with inputs for those red/white/yellow cables.

That's similar to what I've got already WM - I really need a two screen setup so there's a screen on the back of each headrest. It amazes me that something like an extension screen isn't available for portabpes. It's only like plugging into a TV. Cheers for looking.

You’d think they’d be available but I can’t seem to find them!!
I buy LCD, TFT, Plasma etc screens at work but have never come across them.
I will keep an eye out squire.

Try d&e car essentials, I bought a complete dvd package from them for just under £100 three years ago. Got dvd player (12v and mains), two 7" screens and all connecting leads as well as wireless headphones and sender unit. It's also got a remote control. There is a box that you connect the red/white/yellow leads into and then leads that go to the screens so you could, if you want, just use your own dvd player. The only thing is the screens are NTSC but the dvd player they provide is able to send signals in PAL or NTSC format. Tel. (01942) 842899 or email info@caressentials.co.uk
P.S. Their website is down at the minute

you could buy new screens, or alternativley why not play the "spot Eddie Stobart" game for several hours instead or perhaps a four hour version of 10,000 green bottles, both are much cheaper options.
