You’ll be OK there...as bromley says cheap and clean, after all its only one night. Don’t go into Hanley, you could go to the new Premier Inn hotel on Trentham Gardens, just up the road. www.trenthamleisure.co.uk/hotels.html

The Crown Hotel in Longton is what you're looking for if you really want to treat your lady.

Ackney, We always stay at the Tollgate Hotel Trentham rd, £55 per room breakfast £3 pp. nice place with good facilities. You'll need somewhere nice to lay your head after spurs have been whooped by the mighty potters.

eddy, only the one with the mirror ceiling, apparently I once knew a barmaid from that Martson's pub round the corner next to the canal ackneylad, yes it's fine, like most Express by Holiday Inn's. I stayed in one in Stevenage recently and also in Swansea, modern, clean and comfortable, it's also got the Harvester pub next door.

oops ackney ... no lad i've got a few good mates who are spurs fans, one lives in Loughton who I pop and see regularly been to 'the lane' quite a few times in the 80's, I remember buying one of thos big badges with the red devil sticking the Trident up it's arse from outside the game. Must admit i also went the arse when they beat Leeds 7-0 in about 1979/80 was an evening game I think but quite light and sunny, so either beginning or end of the season
