People are not happy because we've not steamrolled over teams. But it's all about getting through these tough games. Can't wait till Saturday π Really disagree mate. The games we've played in so far AREN'T the tough games, the tough games are about to come. The reason people are pissed off, is because (although we are the competition favourites) we don't look remotely likely actually being able to win the tough games. When the match started, the bookies had us at 7/2 to win the competition but by the time it had finished we had gone out to 4/1. As a direct result of our PERFORMANCE (even though we won) the bookies think we are less likely to win the competition now. Performances are important and they badly need to improve on our part. We were a couple of minutes from going to penalties last night and if we'd have lost in that lottery, then we would have played absolutely shite throughout the entire competition, having played absolutely nobody of note.

Supposed to be similar to what Ronaldo did years ago, he got banned and fined Ronaldo only got fined (as did Simeone) - from the BBC website: Cristiano Ronaldo was fined but avoided a ban for making a similar gesture while celebrating a goal for Juventus against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of a Champions League last-16 tie in 2019. Atletico boss Diego Simeone was also fined for making the gesture during the first leg.

People are not happy because we've not steamrolled over teams. But it's all about getting through these tough games. Can't wait till Saturday π People aren't happy because we don't remotely look like a football side and have struggled to string two decent passes together in four games. Steamroller? We'd be lucky to paint roller a side at this rate ...

Think this sums both of them up nicely.
Rice should be England captain imo.
π£οΈ| Declan Rice on James McClean saying heβs βoverratedβ: βDo you know what? I played with James for Ireland for three games and I got on with him really well. I am not going to sit here and slag him off. I thought he was a really top guy. When I left Ireland to come to England, I heard a few things he was obviously not happy about. He made comments a few years ago.
βIt is what it is. I am not going to sit here and say anything about him. Heβs had a great career himself β I think he is coming to the end of his career now and heβs got over a hundred caps for Ireland.
βIt would be easy for me to sit here and say something back to him but, like I said, we are at opposite ends of our careers now β heβs 35 and Iβm 25.
βIβve known him, Iβve played with him, heβs entitled to his opinion and Iβve had to fight a load of those opinions from other people before.β [Belfast Telegraph]

The thing I think about is if that fella had been slightly more accurate with his long-range effort after our free-kick debacle on the halfway line. If that had gone in weβd have been in Iceland territory.

Just our forwards have scored 199 goals for their club sides this season. Yet in the England games we look timid, slow, lacking confidence, lacking an idea and just pathetic. It's so frustrating to see and although the blame is largely with the manager the coaching staff should be having a word with him & the players should be playing with more intensity on the pitch.
Fair play to all the fans that've gone out there and keep using their free time and money to support these performances and have tried to make a positive atmosphere in the stadiums, well done lads.

They were impressive. Kept Italy pegged back and when they got men forward it was cohesive and organised. We do have the players to trouble them. But to do so we will need to be bolder and more fluid than we have been. And not rely on cross after cross after cross after cross that don't work.

Would have much preferred to play Italy I agree mate so would I. But blimey before the tournament we'd have killed for a quarter final against Switzerland with a possible semi final against Romania or Turkey (or even Holland for that matter).

A moment of sheer ecstasy that I bet none of the people deciding on a ban have ever experienced. That said it is a bit daft grabbing your crotch on TV with an audience of 100s of millions. But a ban would be pathetic. Really pathetic. Fine him 50k and give it to a just cause..

In the video I saw he kissed his hand then made a splayed handed 'fanning' motion in front of his groin area. Didn't look to me like he grabbed his bits but then I didn't study it closely. The video that is, not his bits. He seems to have an explanation for it so letβs hope it washes with the stuffed shirts at UEFA. PS did anyone lose their shit when Michael Jackson did it in his music video's in the 90's viewed by billions worldwide.

To be fair I've not seen the actual incident π Just heard it referred to as a crotch grab. But either way I'm pretty sure he hasn't flopped his dong out and started doing the bedroom helicopter in front of his missus. As someone else just said storm in a teacup..
