Yet, I’d be surprised if we use any of this to experiment with the squad/formations. We won’t have Southgate by then. That’ll likely be worse. He’s experimented (and delivered) more than anyone else I can really remember. It’s just the way of it. The best of the U21s should be integrated into these games more (in my opinion) alongside players outside the top 4. Southgate does it more than anyone I’ve seen previously but still not really enough.

Boring but winnable group. We might top the glorified friendlies group for once.

Fixtures out.
First fixture. Away to Ireland. Saturday night in Dublin. The weekend marking the 2nd Anniversary of the Queen's Death.
Whoever thought that was a smart idea I'll never know.

How pointless are these friendlies? We have a Nations League now; there’s plenty of chances to experiment.

Just watch the first half of both friendlies or at most the first hour Endless subs by both sides ruin them
I still don't understand what Gallagher offers

We don’t play countries from other continents in the nations league Should we just never play v Brazil or Argentina etc? That’s what the World Cup is for…. Two of the most exciting and most memorable England games I ever saw were full bloodied friendlies v Argentina and Brazil in the 80s. The Argentinian game memorable for a first sighting of a 19 year old Maradona. I'll never forget that game, what a player. Still think he's the best player I ever saw live.

It's a bit meh with both teams having big injury lists.
I'll probably watch it purely for the fact Bellingham is playing.
I'm really excited to see us at full strength in the summer though if we're lucky with injuries. Luke Shaw will be a big miss if he isn't back.

Looking forward to seeing how brilliant we are now that Kane isn’t in the team making us worse 🥴

Maybe three or four away? Really hoping Chilwell gives a good account of himself.

All looked like they could be the player to finally get us over the line and win another trophy. All fell short for one reason or another. Bellingham has all the signs of being that little bit more special. But knowing England he’ll break a bone in his foot, shag a 60 year old prostitute, miss a penalty and dye his hair ginger.

Really hope Mainoo can get a proper go in the week and force his way in ahead of Gallagher. I'm really not sure what Connor Gallagher offers. I still quite like Maguire for England but like Mainoo, I hope Branthwaite can get a proper go in the week. He's the future.

Yeah can you imagine if Mainoo sneaks up on the blind side and hits the home straight for a starting place at the finals? Entirely possible I think, despite his lack of experience.

Teams that do well at tournaments often have a player who joins the fold at a late stage. So Southo shouldn't be afraid to get Mainoo involved

We got sliced open so easily there.
Walker nailing Maguire(?) in the back was good entertainment.

That right there is the danger with Bellingham. Slightly Gazza-esque exuberance gets him an early booking.. could be decisive in a tourno game
