He should have walked over, cuffed his hands behind his back (they were already in the position) and taken him off for further investigation. Instead of stamping on his head and probably ending his career in the process....... I think everyone agrees that's what he should have done, but we're all paragons of virtue sat in our living room passing judgement. He appears to have fucked up and will doubtless face the consequences. Remorse, regret and self reflection must be totally alien concepts to one or two on here. |

Haven't read it all... But as a copper, you can pretty much batter someone who's attacking you and more or less get away with it. That's a privilege we appear to afford most officers, who are rarely punished for their own crimes.
I think the line is drawn at kicking in the head though. What was he thinking? It's similar to that utter dipshit who stamped on Dalian Atkinsons skull and killed him.
He didn't need to kick him. That's why this is an issue. I don't actually know whether race played a part. A willingness to tolerate and allow police brutality absolutely did.
None of this exonerates the victim of said kick. He sounds like an utter scumbag as well. If there's any justice, all involved will have their day in court.
