It’s not that, I’ve never heard that word in my entire life. It can’t be English 🤣 Actually tacit is one of the great English words - it means something is understood or implied without being stated. British politics is built on it. It’s a fundamental part of our national character (excluding Yorkshire). It’s why we have expressions such as “reading between the lines” or “recognising the mood music”. It’s why we think, quite correctly, that people are being evasive or disingenuous. There’s a lovely example of this in the Ukraine / Russia thread with Prestwich giving tacit endorsement of Putin’s actions. He doesn’t say it outright of course, that would be bad form. He even makes a gesture suggesting gentle admonishment. But It’s what he can’t bring himself to say that says everything. By way of contrast and illustration, the aforementioned Yorkies like Geoff Boycott rarely says things that are tacit; a spade’s a bloody spade for bloody sake.

Good explanation, I was thinking of one or two posters myself. Not saying who though😉

I nearly got my first 2 score but went for "habit" on my second guess rather than "tacit". My first guess implied that the word was tacit, and that was just too deep so I bottled it!

Exactly the same here. I had a choice of 'habit' and 'tacit' on guess three and chose the more commonly used 'habit'

I haven’t built up the courage to take on todays word yet, I’m devastated still!😏

Play it everyday, but abandon it if I don’t get it in one guess. It’s only a question of time before “MINGE” comes up. Got it in 3 today and started with minge. 👍

Wordle 247 6/6* 🟨⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛🟩🟩🟨 🟩⬛🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬛🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬛🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Luckily there was no fifth possibility. My thoughts on this puzzle and its answer are the same. Tha answer was "other" for you right? Nope - it was "swill" but I'm playing the old website because I saved it off as a file. Guess I need to play the NY Times one--didn't occur to me they might have modified it. You all over there are going to hate it when the answers are honor, color, etc. Edit: yep, confirm the answers are different.
