Didn’t come off for him tonight but had no problem with him trying to do something positive every time he got the ball. About the only player to show any kind of bravery on the ball. Yeah, our front players were poor. I thought Ince did okay but that's about it.

got talent obviously but needs to learn when to release the ball to his team mates. It'll come. Unfortunately we needed it now. Us reaching the playoffs was literally the only real point in him being here given he will be back at Villa in the summer

At least he tries to do something.
I’d start him Friday.

How much has he trained with the team? He probably barely knows all their names. Give him chance to settle in before judging him. Shall we delete this thread then? It's a messageboard, and he's a professional footballer... Not quite sure what you are getting at? It's a message board yes and my message is you can't judge him after 3 days training, one of which will have been a recovery day after the match. He is only just a professional footballer, probably 12 months at most so hardly a Jagielka with enough experience and confidence to slip into any team and perform.

Another 'one for the future' type situation then? I'd have liked something more concrete this season given the start, but we looked absolutely shit tonight. I hear what you're saying however.

I can't believe people are slagging off one of the best young talents in the Premier league. We could sign Salah and he'd look wank in our set up. Who’s slagging him off? I gave an honest appraisal of his performance tonight. If brown had done that he’d get far worse and probably already has tonight than what I’ve said. I’ve also said he’s young and it will come with training.

Not seen much said about his performance after the match.
Thought he played ok.Skillfull and direct. And did put them on the back foot a few times Played a few loose passes that never made it to the player intended but who didn’t.
My gripe with him is he tends to try and do too much and either plays him self in to trouble, overruns it or doesn’t look up to play someone in in a better position the fletcher pass he should have made being an example of the latter where instead he ended up with a pretty tame shot.
That being said he had a hand in the goal and was unlucky that it wasn’t him that scored it in the first place.
I’d like to see Wright-Phillips starting games and bidace coming off the bench instead as personally think he’s a lot better technically and has more awareness to contribute to the team. Plus the fact that he’s actually our own player and would prefer to work on his development

He is a real live wire.
His game really picked up once he started linking up with Powell.

He is a real live wire. His game really picked up once he started linking up with Powell. Like most young talented players he needs some good players around him too, and we saw this when Powell was introduced. i.e our only really good player. It would be great if we can find a way of getting him and Wright Phillips on the pitch though.

So Bidace had no option but to take the shot.

The defender stood them up well and if he'd have squared it, Fletcher would have had to first control it and then try and get a shot away. Fletcher's not really that reliable of a goal scorer either.

Thought his first half performance was phenomenal tonight. It was like watching Arnie again.
Got a bit sloppy at times in the second half but he’s going to be great fun to watch for the rest of the season.

For a young technically gifted player full of tricks his work rate at times and his willingness to track back and put himself about also impressed me. A talented player and looks like we’re lucky to have him.
