Gordon Brown should hang his head in shame. This was the homecoming that nobody wanted. Five young men had gone to fight for their country and five coffins came back. A town stood in silence as the latest casualties of the war in Afghanistan were quietly returned to Britain yesterday. On the very day that five of our brave lads' bodies are returned home, Brown announces that Britain is to send more to fight. Where was he?

Because we've started now.
Brown had the option to pull out when he became Primeminister, however our relations with America mean that we can't pull out!

It's been 7 years, and we've made little progress, we're wasting lives and money on an un-winnable situation just so our cowardly government can save face and not have to admit that occupying Afghanistan was the wrong thing to do, we have already been violently expelled from that country twice before when we tried , the Russians couldn't occupy it in the 80's, what's more is that it's not in our national security interests to stay there, in fact staying is more likely to incite violence against us, likewise in Iraq.

That is true serps, no progress has been made in all honesty. Unfortunately we can't pull out until the Americans let us, thats what it has resulted in.
Our lads are doing a great job out there but it is difficult to make any real progress when they have so many people willing to join their own forces and fight against us!

I'm just baffled at the reasons why we're still there, it doesn't make any sense what so ever. We need to get out of these countries and focus on the real enemy, the actual terrorists trying to attack us, but at the same time understand why it is they attack us in the first place.

No one ever wins in that area of the world. Uniforminarianism-the present is the key to the past. Well in Afganistan it is always anti-uniforminarianism-the past is the key to the present. They will always align themselves against a foreign aggressor, they always have and they always will. And they always turn them back.
