Been casting around. Choices are opening up over here. I was mostly on Tetley British blend the longest time. A short round of PG tips. Actually drinking Twinings Breakfast blend at present and quite liking it.
Any recommendations? I know I can get Yorkshire but have yet to try it.
No interest in Earls and Lhapsos and fruit stuff. This is black, no sugar and by the large mug (and often) Wondering if I should buy a tea pot again?

Yorkshire Tea is probably the best for a decent standard brew, but that's with milk, I couldn't begin to recommend a variety to have black. Loose tea is far superior to tea bags so your idea of getting a teapot is a good one. No idea if you can get loose tea in the US, presume so. Try Assam.

Have the same problem here in Thailand. We have the following available (but not all year round & not at the same time) Yorkshire Tea - v. expensive in Thailand (probably 3x the price in UK). Strongest brew. My favourite. PG Tips - reasonable Tetley - quite strong. 2nd to Yorkshire in taste for me. Twinings English Breakfast - bog standard. OK. No problems drinking this. Liptons Yellow label breakfast tea - most commonly available and cheapest. Ok. Loose tea - I like Darjeeling which is quite strong

Using PG at present although I do love YT as well.
If you have a decent sized teapot, try 2 "standard" bags with 1 earl grey, bloody lovely.

Yes remember that, my Nan was same. Wonder if you can still get it🤔 I think the co-op still sell it I might wander in my local one and buy some for when my lads visit My Dad was a professional tea taster in the City - I've got it on my birth certificate - and he thought Co op 99 was the best, followed by PG Tips. I have looked for 99 recently but not seen it.

Still get the Ringtons delivery man round our way (Yorkshire). Bit expensive and not that great so went to Tetleys. Won't bother with Yorkshire tea seeing as they pulled the backing of Yorkshire ccc.

I forgot Nambarrie in the UK. A Scottish work colleague used to bring it over to Kazakhstan. Super strong brew. Tried to get it in England but seems like it is only available in supermarkets in NI and Scotland. It must be too strong for the English $ Welsh.

I don't drink tea that much. I must have it mild and with lots of milk (1/3 of the mug) and three spoons of sugar. Normally. They call it The Indian Way here, or India Tea.
But I've found in recent years there are a couple of teas I can drink and enjoy just as they are:
A green tea with Jasmine I once had at a Chinese restaurant. It was very good, one of the best drinks I've ever had actually. Had several cups in a row after a fantastic meal.
Lidls inexpensive Rooibos Caramel tea. Bags with an excellent taste, just as they are, no milk no, sugar.

I prefer loose tea when I can be bothered. PG tips in a diffuser Other than that nowt wrong with tetley bags Sometimes I'll empty a tea bag into an infuser, especially if it's chai. I've got some round tea bags at work in a jar, they're either Tetley or Typhoo. At home I have Red Rose tea bags and some loose leaf Twinnings. Frankly, I really can't tell the difference between loose leaf and bagged tea.

The Scottish sounds intriguing. Had forgotten that if I root round in some of the “International” sections of the supermarkets there are some Irish teas but I have never tried.
Last few bags of the Twinnings Brekky then I have a box of the Tetley British blend. As I said, it’s been a while.

twinings.co.uk/collections/nambarrie-teaI didn't realise that Nambarrie is owned by Twinings. Also production moved from Belfast to Hampshire a while back. Makes it even more confusing as to why it is not sold in supermarkets in England. You can buy it on Amazon but it seems a hefty price.
