So good to see the market back in Birmingham this year I hope its a great success. It looks brilliant I've missed them so can't wait to go to them this Yr.

Can’t beat a good Christmas market, although I have to confess the smell of mulled wine makes me heave…….. It did me but you have to persevere and push on through eventually it's nice 😁 I found a lovely white wine version in Cologne and it was delicious. We're off there at the end of the month to fill our boots.

Are they having the "punch-up" market in Hanley this year? Not sure but you would do well to get out of Manchester or Liverpool's market without your wallet going walkabouts. It is literally xmas come early for them

Always a good day out. We were going to go Edinburgh but the market was in doubt when we looked into it. Manc is also a belter. Noticed yesterday that Town Hall is all boarded off with scaffolding still up, not sure they'll have the big one in that location this time, or the giant blow up santa.

I’m very bah humbug regarding Christmas markets. I find them all the same with thousands trying to pack into a small area, unable to view stalls that all sell the same stuff and the ubiquitous smell of stollen and mulled wine wafting around. The last one I went to was Bath about 3 years ago. At Bath there was a one way system to herd people around, so many it was difficult to stop anywhere and if you were in the middle of the queuing throngs viewing stalls was impossible. Add to that the carnage of Landsdown Hill Park and Ride made the day very forgettable.

Winchester Christmas Market was very civilised and enjoyable, you definitely need to seek out the smaller less commercial ones which gets harder and harder. We stayed in St Johann in Tirol a few years ago and the Christmas market was absolutely superb, most of them are just cash cows these days unfortunately......
