I was there 6 weeks ago for the 3rd time....Just around the bay from Marmaris and a bit more upmarket. Market day is Wedesday. The local Dolmus bus is as cheap as chips and very regular. I would certainly recommend it. Where are you staying ??

I have been Icmeler for the past 4 years. Really good weather and pretty cheap to. Couldnt recommend it highly enough, its a bit quieter than Marmaris but its still plenty busy enough for me.

Ive just got back (2 days ago)..
Lovely place, not really any night life as every where has to turn the music off at 12. However the bars do stay open until the last person leaves.
I stayed in the Hotel Efende which was really nice bed and breakfast we had. Its not as cheap as it used to be, exchange rate is about 2.38lira to the pound.
Mamaris is a long street basically with loads of shops and a few bars. Prefer icmeler to be honest.
You must do the boat trip and the jeep safari, loads of fun.

The Love Boat - It has gone rubbish The Chef - Always Empty now
The best places we went this year
The Red Lion (opposit the three bells) Harrys Steak House by the square Kingsland Chinese - a bit further up from the waterfall The Majestic - Great entertainment in here The Chip Shop a bit further down from Romeo and Juliets bar
A good mixture of Chinese/Mexican/English/Indian/Turkish in all of these bars.
For a good steak your paying around 24-26 lira.. comes with chips rice and vegetables.

can't beat icmeler, yep it has gone a little bit more expensive this year but it's still better value for money than spain or canary islands or greece. The turks are lovely, really make you feel welcome, i've been twice and the second time we went the bar men could still remember our names from 12 months before. Don't go to the Waterfall, the setting is nice but the food is expensive for what you get. Make sure you do the Jeep Safari, and a boat trip, if there's a group of you going try and hire a boat to yourself, normally works out for a boat of about 14 or 15 people at £10 each and that includes lunch. It's a fanatastic day out. If you fancy a walk along the front, if you go to the canal and walk to your left you'll eventually come to a bar called Cafe Del Mar, it's up some steps and the views are fantastic. You'll have a fantastic holiday, Oh and don't stay at the Mandalin Hotel, we got robbed when we were there last year and it was an inside job!

It sounds as though the Onur hotel is right in the middle of the resort, but to be honest it's not that big a resort so every where is pretty central. The apartments we've stayed at or have known people who've stayed at them are: The Efendi, The Light House, The Prince, The Bonjour, The Iguana, The Marti, The Oylum Garden all of them have been lovely. Accomodation is quite basic but it's always clean. We've booked with this company before www.jetsunholidays.co.uk and they were great, also if you get in touch with someone on www.icmeleronline.com tell them where you want to go, how long for and roughly how much you want to pay they'll do the best they can to accomodate you. They will also sort out private transfers which will take you straight from the airport to your hotel and cut about 20-30mins off your tranfer time.

Icmeler sounds a really nice place.
I own a couple of properties on the outskirts of Kusadasi.
I prefer being out of resort as the prices are so different and your surrounded by real Turks rather than spivs.
Have any of you ever heard of a place called Guzelcamli ?
It is a little hidden diamond right on the Milli park and boasting the best air in Turkey along with thermal springs etc.
