Pretty sure I read or heard somewhere that a chef at the Blue Tiffin in Meir won some sort of national curry award recently, can't vouch for it personally tho, never been.

Just back from Monsoon in Newcastle, highly recommend it.
I rarely eat out in this neck of the woods but I'd make an exception for this place. Very, very good.

Has the Milon re-opened? It was shut all last year and the beginning of this year due to covid and not sure what was happening with it. Is the old bloke still knocking about who has ran it for decades? Or is it now his sons that run it. Used to end up in there many a friday night after jollees

Not silly pricing on the drinks either. Take your lady, see if she can get barred there too.

All depends what kind of curry you want .All of the above sell standard British type curries. If you want something more authentic there are plenty of cafes and a couple of restaurants what do them but as I said all the above are average at best. All depends what youre used really.

It provides food to all the asian taxi drivers in the area.

I use curry now and then. Perhaps I should today in that home made sauce, together with the brown rice, pork filet, red pepper, onion. Mmm.

Shalimar, Newcastle: Had the phaal last week but they didn't sacrifice taste for heat. One of the best I've ever had. Even the mint yoghurt was like a soup, not wishy washy like you usually get.
Burslem: Kismet and India Cottage. Consistently good.
Ali Baba's in Hanley might be a shithole but I've never had a better balti.
