it's such a shame that sam smith fell down this gender rabbit hole. he could've been an incredible figurehead for gay men, even if he didn't conform to society's sexist ideas of clothing. look at adam lambert, who came up around the same time. very flamboyant and non-traditional, much like david bowie, marc bolan, freddie mercury, even kurt cobain, but still knows he is a man. now, all smith is, is a clown. i don't believe in non-binary because gender isn't real. i wish more people on the left would be comfortable acknowledging this, because it's going to fucking ruin Labour if this is the nonsense we're pushing for. I get the whole transgender thing- people can be born in the wrong body and want to transition from M to F (or vice versa). The point being, they're one of the TWO genders. What I don't get is the whole 'they' thing. A bloke with a beard called Gregor is not a they/them as it's one person. "i think i'm actually a girl because when i was a kid i liked playing with Barbie dolls rather than football" is extremely sexist. liking football doesn't make one a man, liking Barbie doesn't make one a woman. instead of society telling a young boy that because he wants to do ballet instead of playing sports, that means he isn't a boy but a girl instead, we should be working to instil the truth, that liking or disliking certain things doesn't make you any less of a man/woman. the only thing that makes you a man/woman is if you can impregnate or be impregnated, or have the parts that would function in those purposes if you're born with a very rare trait that makes you infertile. |

Good grief. When you see that people like that actually exist, it kind of leaves you without words. It feels like the gap between people like this and serious mental health is becoming more and more narrow by the day. I'd compare it to that of a cult (cults do tend to attract easily led people of questionable mental wellbeing who just need something to cling on to, so such a word seems to fit the bill). I'd say the same about the very right wing QAnon movement too. It popped up on the front page of Wikipedia the other day so I had a read up as it was quiet at work. That stuff is just nuts and no sane person would buy into it. 2000AD/Judge Dredd have been pretty good at predicting things down the years (they had a Trump like character as POTUS way back in the 80s) and we're seeing 'Simping' becoming commonplace now (such as last week at The Brits)  |

One thing I learned, if true, is that badgers eat hedgehogs. I didn't know that, but a camera in our back garden often used to record a hedgehog wandering through. Then, one night, it recorded a badger sauntering over the lawn and patio. This fairly well built badger looked as if it had eaten a pie or two too many. And, it had occurred to me a month or two ago, that we never saw the hedgehog any more. Now, I suspect, I know why  |

I think the thing that alot of people don't realise with social media though is that for alot of these influencers it's very much a full time job about making money and the more controversial you are, the more views you get, the more money you make. People need to wake up and get in the real world rather than waste their time giving attention to eejits like this. As others have said, I'm glad I got rid of social media along time ago. Absolute cesspit filled with people desperate for attention and recognition. Couldn't think of anything worse than being in a relationship with an influencer too. Imagine going on any holiday or to an event and rather than enjoying it your whole day is spent making a highlight reel to get likes and shares. |
