Said before on another thread that on our 25th wedding anniversary I told the wife to get ready to go out for a meal.
Took her Venus Chip Bar, Hanley by the bus station, mind went the whole hog by paying the extra 50p to sit inside as it was our 25th,
Recall them being nice.

I like Milehouse myself. Shaws in castle and Milton chippy worthy of mentions. Oh and Penkhull fish bar.

When I lived in Stoke I went Oakhill fish bar a few times, they used to do decent chips and good chicken.
When I was younger we always went to the one in Ball Green - they were always top notch

There used to be a load of great chippys in Stoke, ones close enough to my house that the chips stayed warm on the way back. Namely Keary Street chippy, Pooles' and Kinky Rob's. These days I couldn't say.

Not been for a few years but always enjoyed Venus. Not sure my Mrs would appreciate it on such a momentous occasion(to her) but I’ll bear it in mind 😉

When I was doing games from Mid-Wales there was a must stop on the way home in Newcastle. Half way up a hill on the right.
I think it may be the one mentioned above…..babies head, jumbo sausage chips and gravy.
oh god I need to move home

I don't know how you lot can afford go the chippies. The last time I went was the one in Carlisle Street, Dresden, but its shut down now. I had some batter bits and a kid's cone of chips and that was two quid! OS.

Up the North end Sammy Lowe's and May Street really good. Use Milehouse occasionally from work. I'm told Jimmy's in Meir is great but never been.

I'm a straight Milehouse man. Nothing kinky for me when it comes to fish and chips. We had a Milehouse at work a couple months back and I was massively dissapointed.
Chips were luke warm and greasy as fuck, and the fish batter wasn't crispy! Just a soggy and greasy mess.
Best fish I've actually had was from K's Plaice on Heathcote Street of all places. Looks a very generic and boring chippy on the outside but that fish was mega, great batter and shit tons of chips, so much so I had enough fish and chips left over for tea the day after! Their small was like the equivalent of a large in most places.
Aside from that I'm a Nemoz man just purely out of laziness and it's decent stuff.
