It seems people are very territorial about their chippys. There’s been some stinkers recommended so far that are clearly favoured because they’re nearby! Let the argument begin✊🏻

And one of the guys in there is a Stoke fan , not the cockney one lol , my Mrs is celiac so she had fish in gluten free batter last night very nice as well , I know the one at Milton lights does Gluten free but haven’t tried that one yet as always seem to be roadworks and a nightmare to park

Venus is usually my go to round here. The best fish and chips I’ve ever had are from a small hole in the wall chippy in Conwy harbour, washed down with a pint from the Liverpool Arms.
The chippy at the Black County museum is also superb.

Clare Street chippy in Basford used to be pretty good but my go to these days is Yorkshire Fisheries in Cobridge.

Milehouse good but sometimes because of the queues and lack of parking I'll go to Porthill chippy. Possibly my go to chippy now I've tried it
I'll echo above about Clare street. Bloody awful.

For a cheap and cheerful dinner you can't beat Venus. Can get a meal for less than what some chippy's charge for chips these days.

I like Milehouse myself. Shaws in castle and Milton chippy worthy of mentions. Oh and Penkhull fish bar. Milton Chippy has a large vegan menu too... An absolute prerequisite for you all I'm sure.

That’s right and gluten free. Not something I’d have but the gluten free brigade I know wouldn’t go anywhere else. As for the normal stuff, it’s excellent

Madeley by the pool. You can ring up / order online and pay with card and the chips are amazing.

I've never been a big fan of Milehouse though I know a fair few people who won't go anywhere else. I like chips to be a bit crispy. Shaw's in Newcastle has been my favourite for as many years as I can remember.

Mow Cop chippy is pretty decent
The one just off of Bucknall New Road heading towards Northwood park wasn’t decent, however the last time I had one of those is over 13 years ago and that may just be childhood nostalgia talking!
Milton is pretty decent.
High Lane one is the greasiest in Stoke by a mile.
Chell Heath chippy, not good, not bad.
Chippilicious used to be good when it first opened, I feel it’s gone downhill since.
Captain kooks is decent, although not as good as the breakfasts.
Writing this, I wonder how I’m only 13st!
