Is he adamant on a gaming chair mate? Basically, all gaming chairs of that design are manufactured by one company with stock bought wholesale with their logos. Quality is generally naff, horrible plastics and fall apart fairly quickly. But they do have the aesthetic that appeals which is understandable. Personally I’d go for an ergonomic office chair with mesh back, way comfier too for longer sessions at a desk gaming. Doesn’t need to be some Herman Miller mega chair, but I’ve got one from Amazon for £130 and it’s brilliant with adjustable head rest.

Exactly mate, these cheap tatty gaming chairs are shite and like you say you can get one of those ergonomic pieces at much better value. I’m not a gamer as such but it’s a no brainer

I know it’s abit more then you want to spend but me and the Mrs both have one of these in our office and it’s one of the best chairs I’ve ever sat in. Check out this JÄRVFJÄLLET from IKEA. Here’s a little more information: ingka.page.link/evx3bUbkekzQGpuA8

I've found that when the seats are that tall with the base mounted dead centre they're incredibly likely to fall over backwards and massively increase the pressure on the back mounted bolts etc. So it does depend on how your lad is likely to use it. But I'm basing it on personal experience however, and there is a real possibility that I'm just a retard who can't sit properly. The last chair I bought a few years ago now and has been brilliant had the mounting point further forward:

The last chair I bought a few years ago now and has been brilliant had the mounting point further forward: Did make me laugh re the retard who doesn’t know how to sit part. Years ago I did a corporate for Forbes at The Waldof Astoria. As you may imagine everything was top, top, top top end (as only American billionaires can do) The room was nothing but heads of industry, other billionaires etc, etc. You get it. So, day one, everything is top end and they have brought in the best chair in the world for these people (Herman Miller?) Day two opens to someone who is flown in specially, and at great expense, to give a one hour lecture on how to operate the chair. Sitting eh, who knew?
