Buttler in overdrive again. Quality player.
Hopefully this will get him in good touch for the Ashes.

Great innings from Buttler on a tricky looking wicket. Still need to bowl really well though as the boundaries are really short......

Better win than the Australia one that. It was one hell of a rollercoaster. 30 minutes ago it looked like Sri Lanka were going to cruise home, until that catch and then the run-out.

I haven't been able to watch it today but looking forward to seeing the highlights. I think England will benefit from having a close game and from having to bat first, which seems to be quite difficult in this tournament. I understand Mills picked up an injury which is a shame. Hopefully Wood may be fit to come in.

Buttler in overdrive again. Quality player. Hopefully this will get him in good touch for the Ashes. He is box office when he gets in, surely one of the best white ball batsmen in the world. Still hoping he can take a bit of this into the test arena. Clearly he has to bat with mind on the match score situation. But there has to be situations in tests where he can be told just go on the offensive when you walk out. Buttler batting aggressively for an hour in a test match could completely change games.

Shame if we accidentally lost to S Africa, probably knocking out Australia in the process...

Well, to be fair we were well beaten in that one from about the moment Sinckler got knocked out and replaced. Out muscled and out played. No complaints really.

Afghanistan have missed a trick not batting first I fear, if they could have just posted a challenging total of around 140 the pressure would have seriously been on India.......

They had New Zealand really struggling at 40 odd for 3, but let them get away by taking their better bowlers off when they needed another couple of wickets. Good effort though, they will be still smarting from their batting performances against Namibia and Afghanistan where they let themselves down......

Was just about to post this. He feels that as a friend he should make a statement. And fair play to him I guess because he will get pelters. What I will say as a former (now 3 hours a year) cricket player having played alongside a roughly 50/50 white English/Asian English teams for years we always had a to and fro with the Asian guys which was the best of “banter”. I won’t say the kind of things that were said at the time at risk of offending a few but it was basically a race fest and was all taken in good jest from all cricketers from all backgrounds. I just wish we could all calm the fuck down and just get on with having some fun

Heads need to roll, it’s been a disgrace. Love going to Headingley but I won’t give them another penny until there is some acceptable resolution to this. A couple of pals from Leeds who are members are looking to cancel with immediate affect as are hundreds of others. It’s a shame it has to be that way but they’ll no doubt change their mind when it effects their bank balance…….

The P word doesn't have the same connotations outside the UK, in Australia I have seen it used as the abbreviation for their cricket team as we are called the Poms so if it was just that I might have given Ballance the benefit of the doubt as someone who didn't grow up in the UK not understanding the meaning of it but all the other stuff like is that your uncles shop suggest there was something majorly wrong in the dressing room thats not banter its racism, I've worked with aussies, kiwis, saffas, americans as well people from most of Europe and had and received plenty of banter and pisstaking about sport / countries / culture and what has been admitted is not that.

In most sports there's usually one country that stinks the place out in a major tournament. Congratulations Bangladesh you are that team this time.
EDIT Closely followed by the West Indies in fairness…..

EDIT Closely followed by the West Indies in fairness….. The Windies are living (if that is the right word) on past glories. Look great on paper… if that paper was 5 years ago. Anyway, on the other side of the coin there is one team that over performs… which fits Sri Lanka. They looked appalling in the summer, but have looked a very tidy side in this tournament.

Excellent from the ECB. Shall we start the timer on the ECB going woke, comments made years ago etc...? Honourable mention to sponsors aswell, glad to see consequence culture taking effect. The original racist abuse is bad enough. and it is very bad. The subsequent investigation and its aftermath has been a disgrace.
