You can only play what's in front of you, admittedly, but if Vale do make the EFL cup quarters they'll have done so by seeing off Sutton Utd, Fleetwood and Crewe all at home and Mansfield away.
Not the most challenging route to a quarter-final!

Still an excellent following but 1,031 made it through the turnstiles, which suggest a few hundred bought tickets for the points or a chance of Wembley tickets down the line maybe? I wonder how many are staying down there for the Plymouth game? If it’s half term in that neck of the woods it’s worked out nicely in fairness….. |

Their supporters chairman actually said they're three matches away from Europe, factually correct, but it's a rayte jazz fest! 😂 |

I think it shows even more how little emphasis teams put on this. Really has become a 5 th rate trophy. Only Man City seem to take it seriously
Been saying it for 20 years, is games teams simply don't want as team selection shows and the crowds throughout the tournament show the fan interest. Obviously when you get to business end they crawl out of the woodwork but the fact we opened half the ground and some teams,one stand back that up.
Someone always pops up with the..yeah but the only thing we've won and has to be kept going etc but that was 50 years ago and the massive lack of interest in general is in the figures. The Boro away followings doesn't paper over the awful crowds over the tournament
