Perhaps they’re just trying to work out what purpose he serves. He served the purpose of papering over a shit show by Alex Neil last season in those few games . Some seem obsessed with him He was very much part of the shitshow for the vast majority of the season and also when we were playing the best football in the division. If he had a handful of decent games I’d say that’s generous. Non descript midfielder who doesn’t do anything particularly well. He looks even worse in their setup than ours. |

It’s asking for trouble particularly with Championship standard players. The majority of teams that get promoted play possession based football and play out from the back what’s not to get about it? It’s not like we’re watching teams like Preston getting promoted on a regular basis. Southampton on top of having more possession had more shots and more corners. On another day you get a different result. |

Can't say I've seen anything of him this season apart from Saints fans raving about his passing stats in his first game but he'll get found out again, he's a bog standard player that doesn't really excel at anything. |

Thing is if you want a young squad you've got to be prepared to give them time to develop to their potential, Stoke are not going to get the ready made off the shelf young lads who are certainly heading for far greater things, they cost serious money and have clubs in better placed positions looking at them. Burger just looks a serious coup. Harwood bellis was nothing more than steady when he was here in my view, same with that sheff utd left back we had for a short time the name escapes me, I'd snap your arm off for them now. Same as Delap, he's been written off as garbage, I'll bet my last pound that in a couple of seasons of champo football he'll develop into a very useful player. We signed Delap more in hope than anticipation in a very early stage of his career. I think as a club we're certainly guilty of signing promising players too early in their career to expect them to move mountains, most have been loans under ffp restrictions though |
