Best ask on the running thread 🙂 get your running gait assessed at a good sports shop first, not sports direct, somewhere like 'up and running ' 'running bear at Alderley Edge' or Rosebank sports in Northwich

You need to go to a shop first instance to try on shoes and to get advice. Running Bear at Alderley Edge offer 15% off to club runners and there's loads of clubs about just pick a name ....... in all seriousness go and find a club because that's where you'll get shedloads of help, advice and encouragement. If you need any advice on a club just ask I think I know most of them within a 20 mile radius fairly well

Joining Newcastle running club and hoping to get back up to 10k runs within a couple of months (or more)

The first pair lasted 450km before they started looking ropey, and I bought another pair. I may have been lucky for once though, as I usually have issues finding a decent pair of shoes. I have a pair of Vivobarefoot Primus Trail II that seem good too but haven't used those much due to the lack of cushioning and my knee and ankle injuries (which I always feel like I should say weren't caused by running).
