Spending a year out with a selection of injuries shouldn't lead to the conclusion that he is a nothing player. He might be arrogant in not accepting a loan offered, but he has plenty of potential if used right. Perhaps not, but his inability to play well when he’s broken into the first team should be a concern. Has anyone figured out a position where he can play well regularly? Is he a right winger, a ten, an eight? Very much a nothing player who doesn’t really offer more than a nice bit of showboating on a rare occasion. This damning verdict comes mere days after he's done very well in the u23s... If 7, 8, or 10 are positions he can play in then he's just a flexible midfielder. That's a good feature in a player.

I’ve yet to watch a consistent period of the U23s in the second half of this season (when he was back) where TOB has looked streets ahead of the rest. He’s 22, not 18 and should be a step above those around him at all times if he wants to progress otherwise he’ll be leapfrogged by players like Sparrow and Porter. The counter to your last statement is that, flexibility is great, but that wasn’t what I was getting at. Flexibility suggests that you are comfortable playing in multiple positions, TOB has played in multiple positions and never consistently looked comfortable. He’s way behind for his age.

He's an O'Neill signing, one of his first. He'll be given more chances than Sparrow or Porter ever will.

The Staffs Senior Cup final is at Burton Albion.
The 4 semi-finalists are:
Stoke City Leek Town Stone Old Alleynians (who play in Meir Heath, Stoke) Stafford Rangers
Surely to God it should be at the Brit or Vale Park?

You’d have to imagine the Bet would be too big of an event space though, right? They’d have to get in more security and it would look a bit rubbish if only 250 people turned up…..they’d still make more noise than the Bet has heard all season though 😂

Coates an unused sub again for Cork City this afternoon, they're 4-0 up and on a good run so he might not see much game time in the near future......

I'm guessing a Bank Holiday with it being the week of St Patricks Day as you say, they played on Monday as well so another Bank Holiday then potentially? I need to move to Ireland....... EDIT Day of Remembrance and Recognition Fri, 18 Mar 2022 (Bank Holiday), last Monday wasn't though.......

Is being in PL2, Division 1 likely to be a benefit to academy recruitment, or do people who watch a lot of U23 football have other ideas?
It makes sense in senior football that the higher the division, the better. I imagine that other things may be more important for academies though (academy status, route to first team, first team rankings etc).

I think it will help definitely, but often an Academy can be a victim of it's own success from a results perspective. If it ends up with several players out on loan playing first team football the results can dip even though the overall picture is good as lads are playing 2/3 years up.......
