Can’t see it unless it’s a swap for somebody but anyway

Can see Forest letting him go on a free, given his wage packet and his lack of impact last year.
Not one to get the pulse racing, but you never know. Did well at Charlton, and would have been reasonably popular this time last year

Werent they interested in Clucas? That’s why hinted at a swap ....that’s if they wanted Clucas of course

Werent they interested in Clucas? If Nixon is correct, though, Clucas can go anywhere that offers him the best deal, rather than having to worry about who we want to deal with in terms of potential swaps?

Always rated Lyle Taylor. Would fit in well alongside Tyrese, Matondo (hopefully) and Doughty.

If we have a viable swap deal on the table we're not going to cancel his contract and let him make his own mind up.

If we have a viable swap deal on the table we're not going to cancel his contract and let him make his own mind up. We don't really know the importance of this 'end of June' date that Nixon mentions though. It could be contractual. But obviously if we can use him as leverage in our dealings, fair enough. I think Forest would let Taylor go for nothing anyway though. He'll be on a very high Bosman wage, he's 31 and had zero impact last year?

Agree, he looked useful at Charlton but I was surprised at his age, 31, always thought he was younger.

5 goals in 42 games last season. Haven’t we got enough non goal scoring over 30’s journeymen strikers as it is?

I did think he changed the whole dynamic of game when he came on for them during the match over Christmas this year?.

I think the offer will be "nowt" or a swap.
No way we'd pay hard cash for him surely with a big wage on top

Seems exactly what we don't need.
31 and coming in off a bad season.
Great.

Hopefully with hughton preferring 4411 and 442 he will come to his senses and try to sign Vokes as a focal point and give us Taylor

Suppose everything's got to be judged in the light of the financial position. But rumoured signings like this would suggest the FFP boot is being pressed firmly into our faces. Sounds like it's going to be a massively depressed market in terms of fees and wages for the whole league. Can't help but feel underwhelmed though

I think we have to be realistic and that's the sort of player we are going to be looking at. I think a gamble worth taking if we can unload Vokes.

Looks like we continue not to learn if this comes off. Heard a saying the other day I’ve never heard before, but it’s so applicable to Stoke…….”Never make the same mistake twice, make it four or five times just to be sure”😂😂
