Just downloaded this morning and, from what you guys have said here, looking forward to giving it a try. My big buddy, at the time loved, 1 and lent it to me a load of times but I could never get into it. I do game very differently now (loads more patience for one) so am looking forward to having a bash. One bonus, fired it up to make sure it had downloaded properly and Mrs Md came through and sat down. I said ‘Can I put Sackboy on for you’ and she said ‘No, I’m enjoying watching you play’ Bonus! How you finding it so far, mate? Unfortunately exactly as I remember it.

I’m trying my best to get in to Red Dead. Granted I’ve not put the hours in yet but it’s not making me feel like I want to either.
I find the controls clunky and everything I want to to do takes about 3/4 buttons, i constantly have to look at the prompt in the bottom corner to know what to press, it’s just not coming naturally at all.
There seems a whole lot of detail in what should be simple things too like upgrading equipment for horses etc.
I want to love it I really do and I can see how visually it’s exceptional and the story is going to be great but it’s all very complicated at the same time.
Any advice?
Oh yeah and I’m crap in shootouts😂

As I said up the top I was more immersed in assassins creed odyssey as I felt it played more fluid and rolled out the story quicker.

Any advice? Oh yeah and I’m crap in shootouts😂 Not really sure what to say, mate as it all came naturally to me All you're ever going to need do in a hurry is get your gun(s) out, and from memory that was one click of a shoulder button? Always have your Repeater in one of your 'wheel' slots so that when you get off your horse you'll auto have it with you. (Once you get a good rifle - Bolt or Springfield, I forget which you'll get first - I'd then start using that over your Repeater as it's more powerful). Keep your guns clean to avoid damage drop off. (It's not something you need to do all the time, but whenever you're someplace with a Gunsmith - Valentine for example - it's always worth nipping in & giving them a clean). Plenty of people seem to use Deadeye a lot in fights (Not something I used myself, I found it easier to just get behind some cover & take pot shots with my rifle) so make sure you've got plenty of supplies of what will fill your Deadeye core & metre (From memory I think it was whiskey & chewing tobacco - You'll find plenty of these eveywhere when you loot bodies/houses)... Carry meat on your aswell, it's a great health boost during fights if you need it. (You can obviously get meat from all over the place, but killing big game animals like wolves is one of your best options). You don't really need to bother with horse upgrades too much, just stick with what you've got untill you reach Saint Denis where you can buy an Arabian. Just make sure you keep him clean & fed (You can do both of these things while you're riding - so long as you're not going at full pelt - or whenever you get back to camp). Not sure what else I can say really, I just highly recommend you try to stick with it 'cos the story is brilliant. I'm sure the controls & shit will come to you the more you play.

Ive stuck some solid hours in this week with being housebound due to covid & im getting more in to it. I think I’ve just not sat and played it enough basically haha I’m still learning the game. I’m finding myself being drawn to play it a lot more now though, once I’m properly used to the mechanics I think I’ll be well away.

I forgot to mention Prey in my OP. Brilliant FPS, probably the best since Half Life 2. It’s also on sale for about £6 on green man gaming right now and is definitely worth buying if you’ve not played it already.

I might have to chuck Destiny 2 in to the ring. I picked it up again this week after a year or so off and I can't put it down again. For me it's got everything, campaign, endless pvp modes, you can pick it up for 20 mins or play all day. What I like best is the fact that I'm generally just not very good at online pvp stuff but it doesn't seem to matter, you can still do what you need to do. I don't have any mates who play it but you can still get grouped with others so the challenges can be completed. And, the community seems better and friendlier. I played CoD online a while back and got absolute pelters for being a shit newbie, there's nothing like that here.

I think the problem with COD is that even in team co-op nobody gives a shit about teamwork or the objective. Everyone seems to want to run around like a bellend getting their killstreaks and trying to top the leaderboard. I’ve not played it yet but a more co-op and strategic game like squad or post scriptum appeals more to me now. COD has been shit for years, same game over and over with kids screaming into headsets.

Ghost of Tshushima. Any of the last Tomb Raider trilogy. Any Assassins Creed game Forza Horizon 3 over 4 but both still quality Hades Wreckfest Original Mass Efect series. Dragon age trilogy is allways worth a play. Mafia Trilogy Doom Bulletstorm

I actually haven't, to be honest I've barely played the playstation the last few months due to a change in circumstances, I was bang in to it though and will defo finish it eventually.
